Default Duratec Focus number 3...

So I guess I must really like Duratec Focii.

This is my third daily driver in the past 3 years. I think this one will last a while. Fell into an extrodinary deal on this car so the blue '03 Focus went away and this black '04 in now a part of the household.

I think I'll call it Carbon.

So far it's got a Cosworth Intake, Focussport Sport Exhaust with the muffler removed, H & R coil-overs, H & R rear sway bar with poly bushings, Centerline Storms in 15 x 7 with BFG G-Force Sports, and an Alpine CDA-9885.

I think Randy knows how CA legal at least ONE of our Foci is.

Besides Randy, at least one of the Duratecs will have a piece of an FS turbo kit.

The roof rack gets used. I take my bike along with me to work occasionally for rides after work and to parks here and there on the weekends. It's quite a bit easier than cramming it in the hatch.

The only other mods this car will see may be a short shifter, shift knob, tune, and the rest of the stereo which is an Elemental Designs SQ10 in an Audiophile box with an Alpine MRP-M500 powering it.

We've got another Focus that gets most of the Focus mods and I've got a Mustang SVO in the garage in the middle of a DUratec swap amongst a lot of other mods that is my planned track toy. This one will stay mostly a fun daily driver.

The paint looks great in those pictures, I really need to detail my black SVTf. Oh and I like the roof rack on the daily driver.

Nice looking car, very clean, no paint the moulding, handles and mirrors to match!

I'm on my second duratec focus, both have been 2004 models with 2.3L PZEV engines, first has a black hatch, just like that, and while I loved the car, now I'm driving a CD silver sedan, which just blows it away.

As for the FS turbo, Randy if your kit were legal in CA you would have been my first purchase last summer after I bought my car, but my car's a 2004, and I have to drive it for at least 4-5 years, which means I'll have to smog it, which means your turbo is a no-go.

I'm sure there are a lot of focus owners in the same boat i'm in too.

cheers guys,

-- michael

You don't have to smog CA cars for at least 6 years if you are the original purchaser.

I love that rack...Did it involve drilling?

I'd like one for Chromie, but don't want the Kona ones becuase they drill holes...

No drilling. It clamps inside the tops of the doors. I've got a little bit of vinyl down underneath the metal clamps just to try and minimize any paint damage that might occur where those clamps attach. Otherwise it's feet with nice rubber pads everywhere else.

I'd also still like to get the aero panel that installs in the front of the rack as I've always liked the look of them and the rack whistles a bit on the freeway in its current state.

Yeah, I know, but I'm not the original purchaser, and even if I were, 2010/11 is fast approaching for us with 2003/4 model cars.

Oh man, why can't I find a car just like this one (preferably in a light color ) with that sort of mod list for a "steal" of a price?! Damn you Californians and your plethora of PZEVs

He didn't find that car with that sort of mod list, and not in California

All those mods were swapped from the blue car.
