Here's a plug for a parts car. What parts do you need? Keep a running tab on the front page and we can hook you up

Hey Patrick, I'll start on your mirrors later today, but I don't know if I'll be able to fill the little cracks with Evercoat. Over time, they will begin to crack from vibration and/or flexing. I will be able to cover the lights though.

The painter is already informed as to what we need to do.

spent some more time at prestige today, working on the car.

I finished painting the coolant and power steering resevoirs today. there is a BMW ZF powersteering resevoir siting on the return shelf at work. Its been there for weeks, I keep thinking what if it just disappeared? Maybe I'll snag that and replace the stocker.

Then I installed the lower radiator support bar.

Im planning on painting the engine bay flat black this weekend. In the interest of money, I'll be rattle-canning the engine bay. I'll use a pro for the outside of the car but the engine bay is no biggie. I'll scotchbrite the panels with the 90* and then flat it with the can.

Here are some pics of the car overall as Im just so damn pround of it. painted the corner vents black too.

Here are two pics of the murdered out resevoirs installed. Im thinking I might install the SVTF degass cover on the red car since the painted tank looks pretty good. Im also going to paint the brake resevoir and the fuse box black.

Here is the underbody cause why not.

I have to say, don't go flat black on the engine bay.

With oil and such, itd be soo much easier to throw on a coat of clear.

Wow, that tank looks pretty good. Looks like the SVT cover is already on it though.

Your mirrors will be finished by Wednesday, Patrick. I'm going to finish them up tonight and they will be in paint by Monday.

well, didnt really get to do much of anything today. Mark took the day off so the shop was closed. Would have been ok but he didnt call me or anything. So since I had no tools to work, all I could do was test out the flat black spray cans I bought. I cleaned a small patch in the engine bay and another in the hatch to see how it would come out if I rattle canned it.

before:

after. (paint wasnt totally dry, thats why its a little uneven)

Test patch on the frame rail.

I really like the way this looks! If I was drunker (and dumber), I might just rattle can the outside of the car.

That sound deadening is surprisingly easy to take out. I didn't even have a heat gun, just a screw driver and a chisel.

yeah, Im going to go at it this week and get the interior prepped while I wait for some more parts to arrive. It would be nice to have it ready by the weekend. Then the next batch of essential parts gets here and more progress on the mechanical front can be made.

Patrick, I've got some bad news...

I told the painter that I needed your mirrors painted in "UA" which is Ford Black.....but he's hispanic and he thought I said "UE" *pronounced U-EH in Spanish....

It's no big deal though. By tomorrow, they won't be PINK anymore.....

I'll make sure to fix it! I'll make it right for you!

dave.

Im set to buy a pair of forza 2's from a friend but if you were giving it away, I have a home for it.

I painted the engine bay flat black yesterday. I dont have a pic of it yet but it came out really nice. despite my best efforts to **** it up, rustoleum flat black coats evenly and nicely.

Default Re: my new pile of sheet metal. (project RoRo Revive)

dammit what a long day! After working my normal job, I went to work on the hatch.

Here is a pic of the base coat of flat black I put down a few days ago.

you can see the oak pollen that has built up already.

So I had to wash it off to paint it again.

while I waited for the water to evaporate, I pulled more junk off the interior, removed the antenna cable, and managed to pry off some of the sound deadener. Once the water had dried up, 2 more rattle cans went to work on it.

ALL DONE!!!!

I know it dosent look like alot but It took me all damn day and I still have to put the wiring harness back in place along with the headlights and grille. I'll do that tomorrow if my wife lets me out of the house. Maybe she'll go to church with the kids and I can sneak over there.

steering column and clutch line will be here next week, then I'll be alot closer to dropping the motor and trans.
