I had to stay late at work Saturday night to get some stuff preparred for my store inventory on Monday night since I am off work Sunday. Well, I get out to my car at almost 12am and as I'm walking up to it, I see the driver's window busted out. I thought, "Oh ****, not again".

I go up to the door and pull on the handle.....door is still locked. That means they didn't even try to get inside. I don't keep anything of value in the car, my tint is not that dark, and I was parked close to a light pole, so they weren't trying to steal anything. There were 2 other cars in the lot when I got out of work last night and they weren't touched. That means it was more than likely one of my fired employees again, or one of my "suspicious" customers who knows what car I drive.

There was some glass in my driver's seat and all over the interior, but my tint kept most of it together as you can see. I called the cops at 12:10, when I got out to the car, and by 1:15 they still had not shown up yet......so I called them back and went home. Talk about a cold drive for 45 minutes!

There was no instrument around or in my car that could have been used to break the window, so whatever they used, they took it with them.

I'm glad I have a zero dollar deductibel on comprehensive claims, so this one wont cost me anything out of pocket, it will just be an inconvenience. And I was looking forward to driving Sonic today on my day off..........and now I can't.

I've been with this company for 8 years, and at this location for about 7 years of that time. It is the busiest store in our area, and I'm the most tenured/experienced manager in the area, so my boss won't transfer me to another store. Hell, none of the other managers want to take over this store because it's twice as busy as all the other ones.

I've had my car vandalized 3 times, but not broken into yet. That really sucks man. Mine got egged, kicked, and saran wrapped, lol. Keep your head up, they are just jealous of that nice car.

You know I've always wanted to give a cheapie beater car and use it as a bait car. Equip it with 5 lbs of HE and some nice shiney trinkets... ok maybe not.

Damn man, that really sucks. Can't you get a camera trained on the thing from the building, or at least mount a couple inside your car to watch it? I mean, come on, five times? Even with a 0-dollar deductible, you almost have to assume this is going to happen again. And aren't your premiums going up every time you have to claim this bull**** on your insurance, regardless?

EDIT:: Gotta disagree about the beater. It's his car. It's awesome. If you can't even enjoy driving it around, what the hell's the point of all the time you put into it?

To answer a few questions and comments:

1) The mall is in a good part of town and usually doesn't have a lot of these problems.

2) I got out to my car at about 12:10AM and didn't see a security guard doing rounds until 1AM as I was waiting for the police to show up to do a report. The police never showed. The security guard rounded the building and I was under a light pole (as was my car) so I was easily visible. It took him a good 5 minutes to drive over to me. If *I* was security and *I* saw a guy standing in my parking lot at 1AM, I would b-line it over there and find out why he was there.

The security guard said that his shift started at 10pm and that he had not driven on that side of my car since his shift started 3 hours prior. He had patrolled that side of the mall, but not that side of my car, so he never saw the damage or what time it might have happened.

3) There is a fixed security camera in that lot that is focused on a section of about 20 parking spots. I learned this from the old head of mall security after my last incident. I normally park RIGHT in the line of sight of that camera just in case this happened again. Last night I was not able to because I worked a closing shift. 1pm-closing. The parking lot was fairly full at that time on a Saturday and where I normally park was already full of cars so I had to park further out, outside the reach of that fixed camera. There are other cameras but they are panning cameras. There is an 8 hour time frame that this could have happened (4pm-12am....my wife came to the mall and saw my car at 4pm and it was fine) so it is hard to track down on the security cameras. Plus I have seen the security camera tape that shoots that area from the last time. It is so far away that you couldn't tell WHO did it, if you could see anyone at all.

Now that they have a new head of security at the mall, I doubt I would be able to get any assistance with this like the old head of security did for me.

4) My insurance premiums will NOT go up. Comprehensive claims do not affect that, only collision claims can. My wife works for Allstate and is my insurance agent.

wow that really sucks, but atleast you have a good insurance plan that will cover it, with no cost to you. now i think its time to get a good security system (if you don't have one already), so itll make a lot of noise if anyone messes with it again, then you or someone else could catch the dumb@$$es who are doing this
