Default Nominations for June FOTM: I'm SPECial!

Well, these guys are........this month's Focus of the Month category is for anyone who is building, or is already running a Spec Focus for the NASA Spec Focus series. If you took the time and money to build one, I bet that you too would think;

I'm SPECial!

Get it.....Special....

Your car doesn't have to be complete, or even run an event, just as long as you are building or running a dedicated car for this series.

You may nominate yourself, or someone else, but each person is limited to ONE nomination.

When nominating, please include a picture of the person you are nominating. The top 5 cars with the most nominations at the end of the nomination period will go into the final voting.

Here are the overall rules as a reminder:

Each month there will be a competition for the Focaljet, Focus of the Month. Here are the guidelines:
  • Must be a current active member of FJ to be considered. (Posted within the last 30 days)
  • Car owner or any other member may nominate the car.
  • Each member may nominate ONE car. Any other nominations made by that member will not be considered.
  • Cars to be considered for FOTM must be officially Nominated in the Nominations thread.
  • Each month will have a theme. Please nominate a car that fits into that theme.
  • Picturtes of the car should be put in the thread.
  • Entries will not roll over to the following month.
  • The 5 cars with the most nominations will go into a poll for the members to determine the winner of each month's FOTM.
  • FOTM will get a sticky thread for the next month all about the car and the owner AND the car featured on the main page of Focaljet.
  • Winners of FOTM can not be considered for future FOTM with the same car.

Nominations will end on May 22nd with voting starting shortly after that.

It is this never disappearing goal which one strives for that makes it the most fascinating of all sports.

What about those of us who put a lot of money and effort into road racing our Foci (not autox), but didn't join NASA? I say open this to all Focus road racers and not just NASA participents (SCCA, EMRA, MC, NASA, WHRRI...).

Gary K for instance. He was road racing his Focus long before Spec Focus was even thought of.

Squirt gets my vote

And look at that... He's even got a NASA sticker on his window!

There will be other categories for other classes of cars. This month's category is for Spec Focuses only.

Ok. Just let me know when the other three or four of us who Road Raced or Rallied our Foci (NOT AUTOX or HPDE) can be nominated too.

Thanks

BTW: I vote Craig Capaldi. I used to love seeing his Cougar far behind in my rear view mirror at Waterford Hills. Not to mention, he's a great guy to hang around with in the paddock.

Thumbs up Re: Nominations for June FOTM: I'm SPECial!

My vote is for Jesse he has a show quality race car.

Need to have Craig post a shot of the #67 car after I crashed it at the Gratten race and we wondered if we could save it. Then the above picture of him wining the SF Championships with the same car 2 months later. Thanks in big part to his brothers work on the car.

If we get the 2008 done before the voting is closed I will send a picture.
