Default My Mustang Build

Well its been awhile I know I have lost touch with most people on this site just really keeping to my local clubs site.

The focus has sadly come more of a DD for me although it still has the full suspention I replaced the header to stock and removed the motor mounts. She still needs to be painted but she gets me around for now.

The mustang has taken most of if not all of my time and money its definatly been a learning experiance, and I need to thank my friend Matt for helping me with everything along the way and Mr. Gene for helping us and letting us work at the Corvette shop. Finished the rebuild of the motor last month and she already went to her first show (getting a 78 out of 100 and she is not a show car), been on a 500 mile round trip cruse, and been down the 1320 three times and the 660 ten times.

And for the few that are still wondering yes Patsy is still around its been a year and a half so far.

It was going to be a simple rebuild that started like this...

Although it quicky turned into something much much more with nagging from my friend....

Full Mac exhaust (Long Tube Headers, Prochamber mid, dumped mufflers)

76MM MAF, 80MM TB, 30lb injectros, Cobra upper and lower intake maifolds, GT40P heads, Crane 1.6 rockers, B303 cam, 3.73 gears, Nitto 555R drag radials

I love reading about and seeing pictures of this buildup Eric, because I know how much it means to you I've always had a thing for Fox-bodies and one day would love to own one set up nearly identically to yours

Thanks guys I am really happy with how it turned out Yes the hot girl really does complete the package. Its great cause she puts up with all the car stuff and me spending late nights at the shop with her on the phone. She even helped work on it some and loves going for rides and to the track.

Yes, the guy who sold it to me worked at a Ford Dealer and had the car repainted by a Ford painter about two years ago.

Thank you, the injectors are matched with the MAF and are good for up to (I think would have to check again) 350-375 hp and hopefully by the end of the summer I will be making that power. I would rather have it and not need it then need it and be maxing out the injectors. I am going to get the car dyno'ed and tuned the end of this month and if the injectors are an issue they will be replaced and saved for later.

Actually they will work up to 425ish so you should be fine. I ran 24's for the longest time, until I upgraded supercharges then I went to the 30's. It is tough because the 24's are little small and the 30's are a little large for what I need. They need to make one that is in between!

I agree I wasent sure just which ones to get I couldnt really see spending money for 19 or 24s and then having to buy 30s a few months later..

It was actualy her idea... she helped me build it and she loves riding in it she loves the sound and the feel and the attenion. My friend was taking pics and she was like "can he take some of me with the car" so needless to say we both said hell yeah! She said she wants to take more when she can pick something sexy out to wear.

HAHA thats a good question I guess I should of put that in there...
First time to the track with the car I ran a 14.5, 14.2, and a 13.82 the third run I had to put a dial in and I put 13.85 so I ran out and that was all my runs for the night. So 13.82 at 102mph was the best I could manage for the first time and I was spinning all of first gear.
Went to the local 1/8th mile and it is not prepped all that good so still spinning all of first and I was putting down 8.7 - 8.9 1/8th mile times.

She has a lot more left in her I need to perfect my launches and I still have to put the 3.73 gears in the rear and pick up a good set of radials. Late June early July should be doing some suspention work.

Very nice and looks like a lot of work but tons of fun no doubt.
I have always liked the Mustang 5.0 LX very clean with no body kit like the GT.
