Default FoFo 4 Sho (HDR)

Me and a friend went out and tried our hand (his really) at HDR. Some came out pretty good I think. Still trying to get the hang of it.

Some Non HDRs.

when you take pictures usualy its one or the other. in HDR you take 3-5 or more pictures at different exposures to bring each of the colors out. and then "stack" the pictures on top each other to make the colors stand out.

its a lot of fun. but a lot of people over do it. In this case I think it looks VERY well. I am impressed!

congrats!

Looking good! I like the rail road pic and the one with the fog lights on the best.

I like the train pic, but I think that cars are the wrong subject matter for an HDR image. They are fantastic, as evidenced by that train pic, but I just don' think the difference is that big when it comes to the car. Do you have any other HDR pics you could post? I'd like to see them, and maybe it can explain a little more to the people who don't know. Thanks!

the train picture is great
but some of the other HDR shots just mess my eyes up
especially the picture with all of the trees
if i glance at it my eyes tear up
the first pic is great though
what with the tower in the background and the clouds behind it

It was taken at some winery on a back country road. Thought it be a cool place. I dont have any other pics from that day. Some of the pics are the greatest because the not all of them were steady. Well try better next time.

It's the opposite. HDR brings out the detail by lightening shadows and darkening highlights. If done sparingly though, it can add great color and effects without looking like an HDR photo.

HDR works very well for cars... these shots were processed with a trial version of Photomatix though, so the quality isn't as good as it could be. Here are a couple shot I did with the full version (click for bigger sizes):

Look at my pics I just posted they are hdr shoot w/ nikon d3 I used only 2 espouses did it in cs3 with an hdr filter. I feel you need to use fewer exposers You still need to work with the image dodge and burn ...plus when you sharpen do it in the luminosity layer.
