Thanks Mister!
Well, That road is an AutoPista (Toll Road). It's La Rumorosa, well known for it's awesome curves, and years back also well know as one of the most dangerous highways in Baja... this was when it was a regular 2 lane highway. It's now a split 4 lane. Altitude is about 4,100 feet at the top and drops to sea level at the bottom.
Since it's in Tecate, La Rumorosa's very close to the border. So fuel isn't really a problem. And actually, the fuel down here has much improved. Pemex stations (and for those that don't know, all gas stations in Mex are called Pemex and are government owned.) have been changing alot these days. Gas price for premium fuel is $ 8.62 pesos a Lt. So If a gallon has 3.785 lts... i got:
8.62 x 3.78 = 32.62
Average exchange rate at the moment is $ 10.25 pesos to each dollar. So:
32.62 Pesos would be 3.18 Dollars
I can't remember what the price is for regular, it's 7.XX.
Fuel is cheaper in Mex than in the US.
Some one please jump in and correct me.
As for the Euro plates, we actually do have them:
But, they're only available for most cars sold new in dealerships down here. And i think they have to be Euro.
There are some idiots that make their own, which is not legal. But, for some reason authorities aren't too bitchy about that.
And thanks everyone!
