Exclamation well it happend:(

the story is...me and my wife where headin to dinner last night around 6 or so and i decided to take the highwayit was pouring down rain and i was going hot on the entrance ramp to keep up with the flow of traffic about 65-70 or so my car fished a lil bit i thought nuttihng about since the water puddle sometime near the end of the entrance ramp. about 5 mile down the highway i was going about 70 and i was passing 2 cars and i had 2 cars up my butt behind me soo i switched lanes and as they passed me i felt my rear start to give i went oh crap and ang(my wife grabbed the oh sh** handle)went uhoh. we first swung out to teh right and hit the lil rumble strip and then we started dooing the spin cycle across the highway somehow missing 6 cars that where going striaght for us. and as we where going in the spin cycle we went into the mediian of mud where i di like 4 complete 360's and as we where gettin close to the guard rail we where going straight into it my car snapped and it slowed and crash! i was wow that was fun and after making sure the miss's was safe we both gots outta the car to see what the damage was done. i thought that my whole bumper and trunk and tail lights where toast. but much to our suprise teh foci took a good hit and i'm proud of it. and i want to thnk God for his protection cus we shoulda ate 3 or 4 of the cars that came straight at us...so without further ado heres the pics of the fun!!!!

Looks rather light considering. Yeah these little cars take a beating rather well. The important thing is you and the wife are alright. Everything else is negotiable.

So why did it just spin like that? I had problems like that over last winter with it just wanting to fish tail everytime it got above speeds like 45. After I got the new springs and alignment, it has'nt done it since. So the alignment was pretty much the problem. Maybe have that checked out...

Good to hear your and the misses is safe...that sounds like a 'Oh SH#t" ride...LOL

Needs more rear spoiler!

All joking aside, glad to hear that you guys are ok! Looks like she took a pretty decent hit. And wow, not much damage. First few pics I'm thinking "Hmm, he went muddin.....no where's the damage?" Then I see the cracked light, and bumper. That my friend is what you call "Built Ford Tough!"

Foci are notorious about alignment issues from what dealers have told me. As many times as I have been rearended, its the one who hits me that gets totaled and I just get a new back bumper for free mainly because a hole gets punched into it. The body of the Focus is incredibly strong for a small car its what I like about it most of all. I know I am going to be safe in a major wreck with one.

Check your brakes too... had a sticky caliper once and it made one of my cars nearly undrivable in snow.

Tires are everything. I finally found a set of tires that are really good in the rain. Falken ZE512 and Nitto NeoGen are both pretty good in the wet and in standing water. I know the hatches are really light in the ass end especcially on snow or standing water.

Glad you're ok.

I'd shy away from the ZE-512's:
