Default Starting Year Three

Ive been debating alot recently getting rid of the Focus and saving up some cash for the soon to be released Camaro, or the G8 Ute if we get it in Canada (provided I can get it with a stick) I keep the ZX3 in storage all winter and only get about 5 months to really drive it so I always figure if I am going to own a car I only get half of the year, I may as well have something fast.

My problem lies in that I bought this car to finish it. It had a whole load of Euro goodies on it when I bought it a couple years ago, but problems with family have eaten up all my disposable income, then when i got a chance to save up again I decided to take a couple months off work instead.

I want to finish this car, get it done then keep it. I've been cracking at the audio for the last couple years, alot of it was transplanted from my ZX5. I had planned big things for the engine and in the handling department but again, family was more important so I did what I had to do and put the rest off.

Anyways here is how she sits today. I still have the 18" TDs and will be refinishing them soon, along with quite a few other parts at my new job. Right now the Hot Wheels Redlines just make more sense until all the potholes are gone in early July. The late running winter sure didn't help things.

This is out in front of my new workplace. I run a booth and also do alot of the media blasting and prep. Most of the stuff we do is industrial parts, some agriculture, etc... but on my first day we blasted and coated a frame and wheels that will be going on a 56 Chevy. We have the odd engine part make it's way hrough as well.

Here you can see my awesome hit and run damage I got from some bag in a beat up Accord last year. I fixed it as best I could but I think the bumper might need replacing, a repaint at the very least. People suck.

EDIT: Flappy fru-fru doors go up to help decelration after top speed runs!

So hopefully this year I'll get the SVT brakes put on, the new shocks put in to match the springs, and complete the audio system. Maybe it will be FOTM material by the end of the summer. Fingers crossed nothing goes wrong this time around.

Questions/comments welcome as usual

If you ever get serious about getting rid of that car, let me know. I'd love to find Tribal someday and bring her back to life, but this has always been my second favorite Focus

If I decide to change things up I will part the car out and sell the car that's left or use it as a DD (still have all the original parts including the stock wheels, they came with the car) So I'll pm you if that happens.

Very well put together. I'd keep the Focus and finish it. You'll continue to get good gas mileage in that Focus, not so much in the GM's.

Ideally I'd get that car with the bumpers on it as-is now but stock wheels, no lambo doors, no aftermarket stereo equipment, and I could go either way on those tails. Of course, that's just me living in a perfect world of course

Well I still have the factory hinges, wheels, the stereo, and tails

focus-blue I'd take the Camaro anyday bad mileage or not. That said GMs with an LS motor mated to a 6-speed get better fuel economy than I usually get in the Focus and make more torque just off idle than my ZX3 maxes out at. Sure if I drive the Camaro all out it will drink gas, but I can live with that, even with gas prices how they are right now. There are alot of things I'm more than willing to cut back on if I have to.

If you keep it I'd throw some ST170's or Machs and it would really take it to another level. Looks good though.

I want to put on a set of Hellas like the original owner had on the car to complete the set. I do like the ST170s but with this car would prefer the projectors. I just can't ever seem to find a set when I actually have money to buy them

yeah, projectors looked good on there, but I think with all of the euro stuff ST170's would look the best.

I actually plan on glassing more pods where the revese/fog lamps are right now that will look like the magic module signal lights in the front bumper, once done the Hellas will complete the look. If I ever were to go back to stock or Euro tails I would get the ST170 headlights then.

ST170s and an RS grille would really set this car off.

Can't wait to see it with the TDs back on.

Keep the car.

Yeah this was Jay's car, bought it from him a couple years ago pretty much how it sits right now plus all his stock parts. The only changes I've made are the LED tail lights, battery relocation, the audio system, my own wheels and all the silver in the interior has been swapped out for black parts. Like I said I bought it from him in hopes of finishing some of the things he didn't get to. I have a few things like SVT brakes ready to go on the car, I just need to find time to get it done.
