Default Updates plus death of a legend

A couple of updates for the zx3 since the winter shots: color matched the hellas/euro grille, got rid of the pacesetter exhaust (junk rusted away only after 1 1/2 years) for a Roush catback and had a HUGE detail day (clay, double wax, wheel powerbuff)

Hopefully one day ill get to putting this stuff on the car. Im currently going through a rather rough breakup so the suspension install/ mid-ohio trip is off. Theyre Roush damers with Eibach pro springs..

And now Death of a legend at my parents house. My parents bought this car back in '95 with 20k on it. Now it has the entire chassis rotted out and 130k so we decided its time for something new. Hey for 16 BRUTAL Erie winters I was shocked it lasted this long, the motor is still running solid but the body just couldnt take it anymore.

Ill post the picks of the new car sometime tomorrow. We got a '05 mazda 6 with 25k.

looks good!

I believe this may be the first time I've seen painted hellas on a white car. I know of one or two with them unpainted.
hmm

I'm surprised that lasted 16 Erie years too! I grew up there and it was tough to keep anything around 8-10 years.

I had 18's on it for about 2 years, I honestly lost count on how many low profile tires I blew out on potholes. I love the wheels i have on now, I got a new set of Kumhos in 205/50/15 in May and the car handles great.

I took a few picks of the new ride, they didnt take delivery until late last nite:

Look's good and the clean shiny stock rims are always a BIG plus!
Definitely like how you hide the front amber lights behind the grille- is that a "tuff" mod to do?

As for the PACESETTER, I had their TFX Cat-back exhaust system on my 3.0L Ranger- I LOVED the way it sounded, deepy and very throaty. Everyone thought I did a V8 swap. BUT it only lasted barely 2 years- Somehow the weld that holds the front transition pipe into the muffler broke loose & one of the baffles inside the muffler rattles @ a certain rpm. I called PACESETTER directly TWICE to resolve this and the sales manager was LAZY & didn't care. HECK, I loved the sound so much that I tried to order the Muffler assembly itself & the STUPID sales manager claimed he lost my credit card information. That's the LAST time I buy anything that is associated w/ Pacesetter- The parts are JUNK and Service just horrible.

I would rather take my chances with eBay China Knock-off parts then buy Pacesetter.

SERIOUS props to your parents just for driving a Tempo, much less for 16 years. May they enjoy the enormous upgrade that they got in that Mazda 6.

Looks great man. Much as you love those rims, this car would look fantastic in something of the 16" fo 17" variety.
