Default Everyone else is posting bikes. Mine and a couple of the Focus.

Figured I'd post a few pictures of my bike. Its a 2008 105th anniversary Sportster 1200custom.

Lot of internal motor work done, cam, buell heads, rods and pistons, adjustable pushrods, crane ignition system, cycle shack slipons, screamin eagle air cleaner, dyno tuned plus other stuff I'm sure I'm forgetting..plus cosmetic stuff like grips, LED smoked brake and turn signals etc.. I'm going to be putting progressive fork springs and slightly lower springs in the back for handling, I dont want it much lower becuase I'm 6-4. I've done a more things since having it tuned and need to get it back on the dyno but my last run was just under 100hp which is my goal at 96hp/98ftlbs... I need to upgrade the stock clutch and I should be over 100hp/ftlbs with an insanely flat torque curve peaking at 3200rpm then gradually mellowing off till the 6800rpm rev limiter... I thought I had the readout in my tool box but I can't find it ...So next time its on the dyno I'll post it up. It's not the fastest bike in the world but its a blast to ride.

Oh, and my neighbors like to mow once a month....

And a couple older ones of the focus...Camera battery crapped out and I wanna go ride so I'm not waiting for it to charge...Car hasn't changed at all.

The Sportsters look so much better with that bigger gas tank

I kinda agree...Although the peanut tank is kinda what seperated the sportsters. I like the smaller tank more because now they just kinda look like mini-dynas... On my bike, I like the new 4.5 gallon tank because it works with the paint and I bought this thing to be fun to ride and be able to comfortably take long trips, where the extra 50-60 mile range is nice. When I build a rigid sporty from the ground up in the near future its going to have a 3.3 gallon peanut tank for sure because it's not going to be something I'll be taking on many long trips... Probably when I get back from school next fall (going for motorcycle mechanics).

Awesome bike! I was looking at an all black nightster the other day, and I loved it. It handled great, and was faster than I thought it would be. Hmmmmmm...

The nightsters are sweet but I don't see the point in paying $10k for Harleys attempt at a bobber style'd bike...

They sit too damn low too, a friend of mine rides one and he's always dragging either his pegs or pipes on the ground in the twisties, we definiitely ride harder than most only people on Harleys, but they still drag pretty easily.

I don't think I'll ever not own a Sportster, they aren't for everyone but they're pretty much exactly what I think a motorcycle should be, bare bones, wind in your face, vibrating, loud and well....sporty lol. I don't see the point of a motorcycle with a windshield, or the big touring bikes with a/c, cup holders, radios, ass wipers etc...that's what cars are for.

The only engien mod visable from the outside that I have done would be the heads because they come in a grey, but a friend of mine owns a shop and blasted them then ceramic coated them flat black and polished the fins to match the 1200C cylinders because the flat grey looked like ass next to the chrome... He helped me with all motor work except for the tuning, which was done by Caron Cycles. I really need to get a clutch kit for this thing because it slips at WOT, I think thats killing my numbers...

I just bought a set of 28 inch drag bars and some old school styled grips... Hopefully those will be here sometime next week.

I wanted to do 18" apes but after the cost of the bar's i'd want, new cables and brake line, a new shorter riser and new speedo mount, and its about $650 if I did it all myself, and about 5 hours of work... plus the fact that they'll probably roll back in the riser clamp to my chest under WOT, I better go with drags

As I just mentioned in Dave's bike thread, YOUR bike looks fantastic! A bit different than the Sportys of old...

And your Focus: Clean and tasty.

I've always preferred the drag bar look over the ape hanger look. That should be cool to see on your bike. Looking forward to the pics.

They are a little different, but suprisingly the same which is what I like so much about them.

I was reading through one of Kris's posts about the mesh jackets in Dave's thread and saw that mine wasn't right above it, so i read yours and thought..."Wait, am I in the wrong thread?" Then I scrolled up...

If we'd get these here: http://www.cycleworld.com/article.as...article_id=801

I'd actually consider an HD.

Yeah, the XR1200's are badass...

Theres a lot of people who think they ARE going to be brought to the US... I really think they should, HD needs a bike that can tear **** up and bring other people my age in, baby boomers are getting too old to ride and the big lazyboy's with wheels are becoming less and less appealing as more and more import manufacturers start making competitive bikes with a lot lower price tag. The VROD is a sweet bike but unless you just want to dragrace all day they are pretty lame.
