Pssh.. you just think you can be v8's... even my mild wimpy combo is pretty strong compared to some of the real monsters out there. With that said, I put a 1g motor and trans in my old 1988 hyundai excel. 250ish whp in a 2000lb body.... you do the math. -bix

Update:
Found that the longblock is JDM with cut harness's, previous owner used some poor plastic electrical connectors, so I jumped in there with my soldering pen and now she purs like a kitten after some much needed electrical lovin. Next step is the pain, need to replace rear main seal. |

Have fun with it! I had a 94 Talon 1.8 SOHC Slop-o-matic! 170,000 on the clock, and then the tranny went....followed by the engine a few months later. She was slow, but man do I ever miss that car!
-Matt p.s. And by slow, I mean, 19.74 in the 1/4 at 74 mph. Needless to say, that was the ONLY pass I made with that car. Right after that, I left the track ![]()

Update
Talon gets Prothane Motors Mounts and Focus gets new shoes! I was sad I couldnt find the Euro rims in black, but I am happy with the wheel color. ![]() Here are a few pictures of the old versus the prothane mounts. Previous owner filled the tears with gasket maker. The gasket maker didnt help because the trans and engine were resting on the crossmembers causing horrific vibration. After replacing all four mounts with the prothane kit, there is a bit of vibration at idle, but that is expected, I definately feel the difference at WOT, smooth. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Sneak peak at next weeks install. ![]() |

![]() ![]() My old roomate picked one up about a year ago, then sold it to another friend of mine. Super quick cars, but can be a little tricky to keep running at times. It seems you know how to handle a wrench, though. Sweet find!

Hahaha that pic is now my desktop, thanks!
I was running a turn down down pipe, apparently it didnt like 20psi, so it decided to blow off which in turn bounced off the street and put a nice gash in my tank. Here are the photos of the install FMIC. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Cruise Control box is in the way, ordered an OEM noncruise throttle cable, fix the problem and I hear it gives better response. ![]() Im going to have to make a better fitting Jpipe as this one did not provide room for my stock fan so I had to trim the stock fan. Should fit better once I get my 50 trim. ![]() ![]() Ah the downpipe that couldnt take it. ![]() Last edited by FEELTHEPRESSURE : 09-26-2008 at 01:38 AM. |
