Default Bye Bye 08 Focus...Hello 09 Fusion

If any of you guys saw my thread in Pit Stop asking if I should do this or not...I did it.

I pretty much broke even trading in the Focus because I got it on the D-Plan, and I got this 09 Fusion SE w/ Blue Suede package for just under $20,000. Here's the details:

09 Ford Fusion SE
Dark Blue Ink
2.3L Auto
Blue Suede Package -
includes:
Alcantara® suede seat insert in blue, charcoal black leather-trimmed side bolsters with blue stitching; Alcantara® blue suede-colored door panel trim inserts; blue stitching on the leather-wrapped steering wheel and on the center floor console armrest pad; cyber carbon grey instrument panel, center stack and interior door panel appliqués. The 7-color ambient lighting feature is also included on the SE (standard in SEL) - add colorful accents in the front and rear footwells, front center console bin, and front two cupholders. On the outside, low-profile 18" P225/45R tires are mounted to painted aluminum wheels, riding on a sport-tuned suspension system.
Moon and Tune package
SYNC
Sirius Satalite Radio

Plans: 3d carbon lip kit, tint, lower (maybe)

Here are the pics:

The paint has so much pearl in it...it doesn't really show up without the sun though

Yeah, I don't keep cars long.

Yeah, the wheels and seats were the absolute selling point for me. Once I saw the car on the lot, it really attacated my attention, and I decided I wanted it.

I'm sure they can work you our a really good deal...it won't be the D plan...but there are alot of other plans that you can get. Let me know when you are ready to order one.

I actually tinted them right after I bought the car....but I didn't post pics of it until recently. I tried to have the Ford Dealership have the Fusion windows tinted for me (there's a place they have do stuff like that) but they couldn't do it because any time you get a car on the D-Plan, they can't throw in any other incentives. I'll get them done this weekend probably.

Well, I'll be done with school next fall, and the Fiesta should be out that following spring, so I'm figuring it'll be around next January - March. I figure that I'll have to special order it with the exact options I want, so I don't mind placing the order and waiting for awhile until it gets built so that I get the exact car I want. I'm just hoping you guys can hook me up so that I don't have to deal with dealership bull****

Yeah, I'll set you up with my salesman up there...he won't bullsh*t you. When I was driving the Fusion I saw an Altima Coupe, and I was saying that I really liked the Altima, and he told me to go drive it and see which one I liked better. I don't think I have ever had a salesman like that. He will take car of you for sure. Plus I've bought 2 cars off of him in 4 months.

I'm still waiting to pull the trigger on a car purchase obviously, but I'm deliberately avoiding my local Honda dealership. They just got a couple '09 Fit Sports in stock and I have a feeling that after I drive one of those, I'll not wanna stick it out almost two years waiting for the Fiesta

Nice looking fusion, other than the auto trans., I like it! Did you test drive the altima? my girl just got an 08 altima and I told her to test drive a mazda 6 and fusion also but she is one of those types that would only consider a honda, toyota, or nissan. I was wondering if you think the altima feels better/comfortable than the fusion?

No I didn't drive the Altima...I figured that if I drove the Altima, I would need to buy the 3.5..and in that case, I should have just kept the 350z. Honestly back when I bought the Focus I drove a 5sp 2.3 and it just didn't seem right...having to shift that kind of car. To be honest..I'm just sick of driving a stick shift car in traffic for 2 hrs a day.

Thanks Hale. Yeah, I just went for it. I think it's definately a lot nicer car to drive. The brakes are better, the car rides smoother, and dare I say it even handles better. The seats hold you in place better...the focus seats had barely any side bolster, and the Fusion has just the right amount. It's all around a better car. It would definately be nicer if it had more power...but I knew that when I bought it.

Dude, you don't have to make excuses for getting an auto.

I love driving stick, but its a pain in the ass 90% of the time and fun the other 10%. I love driving my girlfriends car; we take it everywhere. It's just nice not having to think so hard while driving, especially in a semi-tuned car.

That being said, good choice! When you mentioned the altima thing...my dads about to trade up and get a new maxima (or trade over? from a mini). He's tired of small, cramped, racer type stuff and just wants an older, 4 door, nice car to roll around in like the old putz he is.

OMG NOT AGAIN!!! LOL! I do think that interior is pretty sick tho. It has to be said tho! Drop and Tint!!! It needs some rims too! Personally I think I would have gone with a Mazda 6 tho they are pretty sick lookin the new ones! But im sure it would have been more than the Fusion! I hope you enjoy this car and keep it long enough to do some mods
