Default WINNER of December FOTM: Gone But Not Forgotten - G_wagen!

The Competitors

The Winner:

G_wagen

Quote:
Thank you to everyone who voted for my car for FOTM. For anyone who knows me, they know that this car was my baby. I obsessed over this car. I would park in the furthest parking spot just so no other cars would be near it to give me door-dings, or shopping carts to hit it, etc. I have to thank everyone at FocusSport for putting up with me and this car over all of the years and helping to get it to where it was. I know my car wasn’t everyone’s cup of tea-but no one could ever argue that it wasn’t a complete original. I had the first Focus I had seen with completely painted interior-and also the only one I have seen with a white interior. She went through many phases, and I was almost done making modifications when I wrecked her. I got her in 2002 and wrecked her in 2007. As life would have it, I wrecked her one month before my last car payment was due. Grrrrr! I was truly devastated when I had to let go of this car. I cried for so long afterwards. I’m getting teary-eyed just writing this. (I know, I’m such a girl!) I tried to convince myself that it could be re-built, but Randy had to talk sense into me and tell me to let it go. I know that it was “just a car” but it wasn’t to me. So much love and hard work went into her and I miss that car so damn much! She is gone, but definitely not forgotten.

Agh, I hate those wrecked pics. That was an awful day.

I'm glad you won, though! That ZX3 was a good car, driven arcross the country and all around the East Coast and West Coast, too.

Congrats Rachel! If thats appropriate. Seriously, your car was always one of the top cars @ FOTB in my book. So perfectly well maintained, both aesthetically and mechanically. You really loved that car, and she loved you right back.

Congrats!

The G_Wagen certainly deserves this posthumous recognition as it was indeed one of the nicest Focuses anywhere on the planet. Srsly.

Well... at the very least it's just more hard-to-swallow evidence that these cars perform excellently in crashes.

I've got to ask, are you working on a new project yet?

Congrats on the win Rachel. sucks it had to be under such a sad situation. I know what it is like to have something you work so hard on taken too soon. I still had 3 months of payments on mine.

What a rediculously well thought out, immaculate specimen.

Again, too bad this car had to win this catergory.

Thanks everyone for your kind words. It was a sucky category to win-but I'm glad other people thought my baby shouldn't be forgotten. Sorry I'm so late to reply-I've been outta town and my mom (even thought it's 2008) doesn't have a computer.....
