got the bar ans subbox in for test fitting and found a problem!!
![]() besides being covered in dust and the garage is pretty messy, lets see if you can find the problem that is going to be a HUGE PITA and waste of time and money.... nothing is in it's 100% final position as it's all going to have to come out again to fix the issue. with everything out new RSR Perlon carpet, Trackmatts, track floorboards, track pedals are going in!

Some NEW pics, finally!
So i spent most of the weekend putting the car back together but ended up tweaking my back last night and had to take today off... not good for the paycheck but at least i get to put the pics up! So part of the project consisted of relocating the Amps, wiring and Cap from on top of the sub box to below. this is what i originally wanted when i had Ralph's radio build me the box and system for me but for whatever reason, i got the amps mounted on top of the box, Cap in behind and a box that was SO tall it looked stupid! this is what i had to do.... Amps all wired up. the sliders were originally going to be mounted to special bases from Wedge engineering but with the seats and side mounts not wanting to line up nor feel sturdy, so i ended up mounting the sliders to the factory rails, buying 2x 1/4" thick plats of Aluminum and mounting the side mounts directly to the plate. this saved about 1/2" of height as i could get the seats down the the lowest settings on the side mounts! the final product is just as sturdy as fix mounted seats! ![]() the old sub box ended pretty much where the rear uprights for the roll bar. after some clearance and notching the box fit tight to the bar and we then made a couple of finishing boards to cap off the void behind the box and make it look a lot cleaner! the old setup just had fabric overhang that draped down to cover the void which it didn't do very well and looked even worse! i tried to do the wiring as neat as possible with what i had. the Relay is there for the Remote triggers as Ralphs thought the deck could power 2 amp remotes off of 1 wire, after about 20mins of driving the remote signal would degrade and the amps would start turning off. this is how they should have done it from the get go! the subs are pointing straight into the seat backs, we modified the original front cover to be 7" shorter than before as we cut off that much from the old box height with moving the amps to the floor. the Cap is mounted upside down to the front of the so the wires could be hidden nicely in the carpet. you can also see the harness loops for the driver seat. Seats installed! Keeping the theme going, i had the seat bases powder coated wrinkle black to match the roll bar and a few other bits. After getting the bars coated and then finding out the harness stays didn't line up, I was worried about how the finish of the bar would be after cutting the stays off... A little time, a steady hand and you cannot even tell a grinder was taken to the bar! A nice Macro shot of the finish on the bar and the quality of the weave on the seats! I originally got 2 6pt harnesses for these seats, sadly the cam lock is located on the sub Belt which becomes an issue for any lady wearing a dress or skirt whom may be riding shotgun... so a 4pt harness has been ordered along with a new sub belt for the driver side with longer straps. We wanted to run a new center console that could house a more accurate boost gauge, a volt gauge, EBC controller and of course all the other bits normally located below the ashtray. Sadly we made the mistake of ordering one of the consoles from 9xauto only for them to drop ship us a BetterBodies part. We had MAJOR fitment issues with a set of Ruf replica bumpers from BB along with returning it and the console was no different. i don't know how those guys are in business as they product always seems to fit like poo-bear or requires hundreds of hours of modification. Rather than wasting time trying to make a sub-standard part fit, i tossed it in the trash and i'm opting to relocate everything to the glove box and running it bare in front of the shifter... It should make for a much cleaner finish product! and yes the wires will all be neatly hidden away. an here's some shots of the semi-finished out side... Nim at Autosense did all the paint work and also shaved the square fog light boxes in favor of some Hella MicroDE Xenon fogs which do a far better job of lighting the road! Hiding behind the front grill is the largest Setrab cross flow oil cooler we could get out hands on. it's like 28x10x3"thick. We are pretty stoked that you cannot even see it behind the grill which is what we were going for. driver side, minus the side skirt in prep for something special.... ![]() Sexy hips... Making the exhaust fit the rear bumper was an ordeal all in it's self! here's a couple of better shots of how the exhaust had to be modified... the car should be coming with me to the shop tomorrow to have my 935 RSR coilovers installed along with my Rebel Racing 935 spring plates.... why the side skirts are not finished. once installed it's off to aircare to get new tags for this year, some small finishing exterior work and putting the Rennline interior bits in place and she should be good to go for the summer!

Totally forgot about this.... I installed this last night after dinner and forgot to take pics till today!
AItech quick release! This was purchased to move the wheel a little closer to the driver and away from the legs which was really needed as in it's old location was pretty much resting on my thighs and made it really hard to get in and out of the car! This really makes getting in and out of the car soooooo much easier! Probably will pull off the hub and get it powder coated Semi-gloss black to match the quick release and shifter assembly a little better! a little bit of Gap.... will probably cut it down on the lathe if the space isn't filled by the horn button mount. failed attempt to make the horn work without going to external buttons... Because of the gap behind the base and the hub, it looks like i'm going to be picking one of these up to be able to use the horn... just too much work to make it happen easily on the wheel so i'll be mounting it between the base for the quick release and the hub which will hopefully fill that gap as well!

I had serious doubts when I first started this thread.... I am thankful it DID turn into BALLER status! BISH!
Muffler? Who needs one, let it sing! Or put a small turbo kit on it... and just work with that... ![]() -bix

thanks for the compliments everyone, i'm pretty stoked to get it done!
it's at the shop right now for the new RSR coilover conversion... hope to have some pics tomorrow! Omni, it's a street car... why does it need to roof? the ladies love the drop top! plus this way they have an excuse for why their hair is all messed up... or at least something a lot easier to come up with on the spot! ![]() Ashley, you don't need to be rich to own a Porsche, i service lots of these cars for people who don't make that much more then say a licensed Mechanic... difference is most are 40+years old and were smart with their money when they were young or DO NOT have the horrible horrible investment/money-pit we also know as children! ![]() well, that or they are young and stupid with their money and are finding out the hard way that owning some of these cars is a big pill to swallow! Bix, look a little closer at this pic.... ![]() see that o2 bung to the left of the muffler.... look a little to the left of it..... ![]() Zork tubes(no muffler exhausts) are retardedly loud on these cars and attract far to much attention. and come on, i try never to let people down with my titles for threads!

Mitch, it needs more crash bar and foam
![]() Seriously, I hope your Focus didn't hang itself after watching you play non-stop with your Porke. Do you post on 930 forums about your sick Focus? I love progress so far. I bet $1 you will take that monster to MMP bbq? I want to come this year. After all my Focus is only 30 miles from you. |

well, the plan is actually a TT3.8 and about 550rwhp 500lb/ft at .8bar on 91 within the next year or 2..... but it will be capable of pushing 1.5bar on 100oct for the track or random displays of gross horsepower!
Nothing like smoking out the tires and leaving a pair of foot wide stripes on the highways at 80mph! ![]() As far as mufflers, they are actually pretty good! our 700+rwhp TT3.6 race car sounds like a giant vacuum cleaner ripping down the track! And Davor, you know i do! pretty funny as the Porsche guys seem to love it!
