I got the old interior out for a little dress rehearsal prior to packing them in the truck for a weekend stroll across state lines.

I drove up to Michigan State University this weekend to visit a friend/colleague and help him with his English roadster project (a Triumph Spitfire 1500 rebuild w/ an engine swap)... But obviously I made a detour to finally visit Capaldi Racing to pick up a few items they were holding near Detroit, and maybe I made another stop along the way, haha. Suffice to say my new truck was LOADED DOWN by the time I left Michigan on Monday. Man o man, 12 hours of driving each way in a truck without a/c and no cruise control was worth it

Hoping to get started on things this week, but might be the weekend before anything gets done with the new interior (shown below).

Step one, cleaning detail. Step two, install. I'm hoping to have the major components installed this weekend, but still a fair amount of material to track down from Europe for the interior.

Yes, this is from fabeled RS 0171, the vehicle shown in all the US mags back in 2002. It was crushed in 2004 (rather than going through the expense of shipping it back to Europe), but another FF/FJ member saved as much of the car as he could. I will leave it up to him to post his own information about the car and this interior, but I can tell you, it's gone from his loving hands to mine just last weekend, and worth every penny. Actually, I think I was the only person to inquire about them when they were posted for sale, lol.

Here's one of the articles about the car:

I am not going to lie, that pic really confused me at first....

Looks sharp as always. Can't wait to see the RS goodies installed!

Haha, sorry 'bout that gentlemen, it's just the tan carpet in a spare bedroom. Wanted to keep the Siamese cats from playing on/around the interior.

On a side note, are there plastic trim over the front seat bolts in the SVT? I seem to have one set of trim for the door side, but the bolts near the console are going to be exposed. I think that clip on trim might have gone missing years ago at the body shop, and I never replaced them, lol.

Wow, you've just taken this project to an entirely new level by snagging the RS seats Did you get the full interior?

Judging by the svt center console, it appears so.

Nice!

Yes, the majority of the interior. Pretty much everything that is missing in the earlier pics of my SVT will be replaced with parts. I've elected against the RS steering wheel (due to wear) and against the RS shift nob (due to the shift pattern), but expect to see more pics as I get things unpacked, sorted and installed. Some parts are still in England, so I'll have to wait on those before this wave is completed.

Plenty of winter projects to contend with, but hoping to have the interior in for atleast a test fit and some photos soon.

If I were you I would've picked up the RS wheel anyway, just because they've already reached the point of being nearly impossible to find. I kick myself that I never bought one back when they were relatively common

Regardless though, I'm gonna be watching this thread VERY closely

Please buy a breaker bar and have that torque wrench calibrated. It just isn't meant to be used in that manner.

Great car, though, can't wait to see what you do with it.

Yep, we def need to get a "Josh Ford" style photoshoot with the cars once they're done.

Watch yurself, this is cougar country now!

Got the new interior together for a comparison to the old SVT setup. I still need to finish with the whole "Q-tip" cleaning methodology, but I think I can get most of the interior in tonight or tomorrow morning. Turns out I left a few brackets in Michigan, but they'll get here at some point so I can finish the rear seats
