Nice! I love that swap. No need for a V8 swap.

The RL7 wheels on my Focus Cossie are rarer and worth more than the Compomotives on my old RS....I won't be changing those

@ Guidothekid

Same difference yeah mate, inlet manifold = intake manifold. And I'm Welsh, not English

Only pic I have of the build so far, because its almost complete and we'll hopefully be fitting it in next weekend (3rd Oct).

Nicely honed and painted block, skimmed head and polished crank...

And whilst a mate concentrates on the engine, I've been doing a few jobs on his 3dr Sierra Cosworth...

Doesnt change the fact that they're ugly. Im not the kinda person to overlook the asthetic value of something for its "baller status."

Say what you will about my "ignorance"... but those wheels and the leg humping that follows is one band wagon i wont be jumping on.

Again, since we've gone a bit off course, x2 Amazing machines!!!

Sorry Cochyn, you and I both know our stuff, but I'm in the same camp as BlkThunder; those wheels look a lot better on an Escos, not so well on a Focus.

When it's up and running again, broken in, etc.... then it becomes VIDS OR BAN time!
Fantastic!

I actually saw the thread, saw you were getting rid of your RS and said out loud, to the monitor, "Stupid!".
Then I saw the replacement. And said, "Ohhhhhh".

Very nice and so lucky to even be able to have owned one, let alone both those cars. On quick question though. Is that rear suspension grafted on from one of the older cars?

I cant say Im a fan of the wheels but i think its because the pictures dont do them any justice. Can you post more details about the rear suspension?

Update 3/10/09

My mate John and I did a bit more work on the engine and car today. After stripping the entire head and leaving to soak in a bath of petrol, she was cleaned up and air lined dry before having new seals fitted and the valves lapped. The block had a few bits fitted, but majority of the work will happen mid this week when one or two parts arrive to finish the whole engine off EXCITEMENT!!! So hopefully we'll fit it and start the running in process when I get some time off from work.

Also fitted the bush to the bottom of the steering column, since the steering was a "little" shakey  but there's still another part to fit to the column before we're happy.

Crap pics, but you get the jist. Empty engine bay...

Block with alternator drop bracket added...

New engine mounts...
