Default Farewell to Thee SVT

As many of you know, I've had the car up for sale since I bought the Mustang. I lost the engine back in March of 2007 and pretty much lost my drive (no pun intended) to work on or really do anything more with the car. So it's sat neglected and forgotten since then. And when I purchased the Mustang, I had no need, nor could I afford 3 cars. So one needed to go. The SVT needs a little TLC and a bit more wrench time spent on it and it will once again regain it's somewhat legendary status here on the Jet.

For some who don't know, this used to be SlickShoes SVT and was (as I've been informed by informed sources) the first SVT or one of the first SVT's to have a Vortech supercharger installed.

I will miss the car. It was an absolute blast to drive.

There she is, trailered up and on the way to her new home.

The new owner is a fellow Jetter, which is something I had hoped for. I honestly didn't want to sell it locally and was hoping to keep it in the family. As is seems to be the custom, I will allow the new owner to announce himself if he so chooses.

Oh, so that's where Slick's car went. Yes, it was the test bed for Vortech's SVT kit. I also applied to be the supplier of the guinea pig SVT, but Chris lived closer and worked out of the house. I was traveling all the time and live an extra 200 miles away, so the choice was obvious.

Glad to see it go to another Jetter - I've seen footage of that car overtaking Vettes at either Willow Springs or Buttonwillow - I don't recall which - and that was BEFORE the Vortech. Chris knows how to turn a wheel.

Looks to be in really good shape for sitting for 2 plus years.

Should have seen what condition my TT3OOzx looked like after sitting 2 years. Was not a pretty site!

Can't wait to see who got it. One of the most fun Focuses I've ever had the pleasure to drive.

Well I guess I should post something since the car is now back home in SoCal as of earlier this evening. And with that said and what should be obvious, it would be me who is the happy new owner.

I had been following the sale thread at the beginning of the year, even forwarding it to a few people, and had assumed someone would jump on the car. Then a few weeks ago when I got back from overseas I noticed it again when the thread was bumped so I shot a message to see what the status was and the rest is history.

I'd like to thank David for spending so much time on the phone going over stuff about the car and it was great to meet you. Like I mentioned before we left, let me know if you're ever down this way and I'll take you out to dinner. Hopefully you can make it out to the next Focus on the Beach.

The following are some pics taken up in Utah as it was being loaded up. My dad drove down from the northwest with my trailer and I drove up to meet him. I'll post up a couple more pics tomorrow from the drive home. The car is going to need some work but nothing major and I enjoy a good project. First off will be going through and doing a good cleanup/detail job (it was in much better condition than David led me to believe in that aspect) and then tend to a few mechanical/electrical bits.

David's (Dukman) other Focus on the right.

Strapped down and snug against the trailer.

Also one of his nice Mustang.

Welcome home Eric. Can't wait to see shots of the car when it's fully back and rolling again.

And you've got quite the FI stable going on now.

Ahhhhh I remember riding in this car with Slick. We had some fun with an Evo at The Streets on Willow. He couldn't figure out why he wasn't pulling harder on us in the straights and why were were on his ass in the turns.

Great car!

I am going to miss the Snow stories about the Silver SVT. But it is good to see it is still staying in the FJ family.

Good to see you found a buyer that will give it the TLC it needs, and not some foo who will jack it up and put some 28" chrome wheels on it.

Hahaa... Very cool! I was just checking in and noticed this thread. Glad to see its still out there rolling around. Definitely still is one of my favorite cars, and never had more fun than being out there with a gazillion other FJ peeps laying the smack down on the cars out there.

And that video brings back some memories. And I think the runs with Dev were in the rain, and I believe there may have been some off track excursions involved.

Later all!
