I swear.. animals seem to be attracted to my car.. My previous foci was totaled thanks to a deer, and before that, ive had 3 bird strikes, and countless mice-squashings.
Anyhow, last night, on my way home, out in the middle of nowhere on the 10hwy. Sure i was speeding, but even had I been at the limit, theres no way i could have avoided it.. I was on cruise at 90ish , and a bunny jumped out in front.. i slammed on the brakes, swerved, etc, but the bunny bit the dust, and so did my front bumper: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Been to three shops now, all have quoted me at ~$1200. They say they can repair the bumper, but highly reccomend replacing it. Ill probably end up snagging a R/S collection front, and painting it myself. |

Dude that sucks! But $1200? Geez....buy it from Steve for $330 plus shipping
http://forums.focaljet.com/tousley-f...vt-bumper.html edit: I'm too slow....REVSWIN beat me, and with a better deal...no paint necessary!

Not to mention it used to be the FocusSport SVT front. I'll cut some money off if you don't want the fogs, grille, lip. lmk

I dont have much to spend atm, so ill probably end up driving on it for a few months.. Im not such a fan of the SVTf front bumper, love the rear, but the front not so much, so im kicking around a few ideas of getting an aftermarket, or a euro bumper to put on there. If i have to spend the money, i might as well upgrade right?

Anyway, like I said I can lower the price if you don't need the accessories. And another thing is that it is Factory Ford CD Silver so it should match perfectly. Something to consider. http://forums.focaljet.com/appearanc...-body-kit.html

well it could have been a lot worse. swerving is not a good idea, especially at 90. your lucky.
bad news about the bumper though

Drill holes on each side of the crack then repair with black cable ties for that frankenfocus look.

Should have just floored it, try to lift the front end. I ran over a deer lengthwise yesterday in my beater, no problem at all.

Well.. trying to get the stitches all aligned and just perfect was impossible, so i went "close enough", and i actually like the results.. the imperfection actually helps the look:
![]() At least for now it looks semi-intended. :-P |
