Got my Focus back... - The Ford Focus Forum

I sold my SVT to a guy about 3 or so years ago, did it as a fiance type thing and of course he bailed so I took possession...again. That was about 2 months after I sold it to him haha. Then I let my mother take it(she used to drag top fuel

to South Carolina while she stayed with her mother but thats a whole different story. Anyway, I got it back in pretty decent shape, the guy I first sold it to actually did the most damage all in a couple months. The splash guards are ripped out for one reason or another, the suspension doesnt feel right and there are endless electrical problems.

Here it is the day I sold it...

And now, not too bad...on the outside, but theres crap under the hood that needs to be thrown in the garbage.

Yeah with a little elbow grease itll be rollin in no time good as new. Its been so long since Ive bought parts for it that I forgot how cheap parts are haha. Even while I had this back when I still had a '03 WRX so my money has gone mostly in to Subaru for the past 4 1/2 years. Itll be fun working on it again though.

whoa whoa, thats hittin below the belt hahaha. Its a fun car dont get me wrong, I learned a lot with it, but its not my subie

First time I drove a stock WRX I thought the same, then I got one and thought differently, which is exactly why I bought the STi soon after. The SVT is fun and cheap to build but once I was in the seat of an Impreza I was hooked. Im sure this is a can of worms being opened, but theres no hate toward the Focus what so ever, both are fun, I just enjoy one over the other.

haha. i love the SVTF and all foci...they are sooooooo low rader cars...even heavy modded one...cops just dont go after them...they hear a loud I-4 car and they go "CIVIC?!!!! WHERE! WHERES THE HONDA! ZOMG!"

They are defiantly underestimated cars for sure. They just arent as reliable as other makes and models, and its just poor design with some things. But on the other hand theres a lot to love about them. I just wish its didnt weigh so much stock haha.

like ive driven many ej20 stock wrx's and they dont handle as well as my svt, and i admit it feels sick to have a turbo, but honestly i think i could beat a ej20 wrx with everything done to my car, ive gone about 85% with one messing around and i was pulling he was shifting at 6k.

i love having the hood scoop and eveyrthing but after driving a STi i will probably next own just a wrx.
if i were it would have to be a silver bugeye.

but also after driving a Evo 8 with 3" turbo back vs a STi with a 3" turbo back, not more than 10 minutes apart, i loved the evo, hated the interior but the evo pulled harder to me and just fell more like a focus, in a say, you could just throw it around and it would just go where you pointed the wheel.

Yeah EVOs def pull harder and have way more potential for power. Its not easy getting big numbers with subaru because of the design of the engine in general. Theyre designed for balance to improve handling, weight transfer, etc. I love my STi and have no intention of getting rid of it, but I do want to build an EVO one day.

Whats funny is, if the STi wasnt tuned in any way with the TBE it was probably hurting it more than helping it compared to the EVO. I prefer underpowered vehicles with superb handling rather than a straight line monster, I love fast Touge battles more than anything

Anyway, the SVT will be treated with care and I plan to make it purrtty again. It, like my STi, will be set up to handle and corner more than anything.

Heck yes. Ill take you to Lime Creek for some Touge goodness. Just in case you dont know it, its one of the best uphill/downhill roads around here, Saturday morning is for the bikers but saturday night its free for all haha.

Glad you got your svt back. I was hoping to one day buy back my zx3 for my daughter, but an f-350 took care of that idea. Now she wants the rex. Maybe by then the next sti will be out, or the evo11.
