Default 2010 Dirt Late Model Racecar build - Finished pics added 3/14/10

I was gonna wait until it was completely done, decals and all. But that's 2 weeks from now, so I can't wait that long.

Here's how it looked last year.

Here's what it looked like when we started tearing it apart.

Torn apart and sanded, ready to paint the chassis.

    After I painted the Chassis

    Suspension on, and engine in

Chassis done. Ready to go get the body put on.

    Body going on

    Body done

    Engine done...

And here is pretty much what it's gonna look like. There are a few changes, but you'll see them when the car's done on March 14th.

Here's a little video of when we started it up. We didn't really rev it up much because the timing still wasn't set. Turn it up...it sounds pretty good.

Looks good. Where do you race again? We go to Williams Grove every now and then. You down this way or up near Pittsburg?

    Thanks Dave.

Up near Pittsburgh mostly. (Pittsburgh's Pennsylvania Motor Speedway is my home track)I've traveled to other tracks, but mostly north of here. Before all of this was mine, and I didn't drive, we raced all over PA, WV, OH, KY and NY. But I'm gonna stick to this area for a while.

I like the Blue. It makes me think "FORD". Somebody just put the wrong engine in it and nose on it.

Also curious.... I see the Camaro nose, but then what's up with the rear pillars? I know they're just "skin", but that rear quarter "window" looks more like the Impala-type Chevy that the Cup cars are modeled after.

You do realize that I KNOW that you're insane, right?
I look at all of that work, and then think about how easy it is to ball it all up when some idiot does something stupid.
Assuming you had an "altercation" but the frame was still straight, how hard and how expensive is it to hang what sections of bodywork?

    Thanks Shawn.

Michael, pretty much all of the rear windows are the same, you don't even have to put them in there if you don't want to. The panels aren't really THAT expensive (compared to other things on the car) but it is about $2500 for the whole new body and installation. I could have done it myself, but not for much less than that price. If you're just replacing a quarter panel or door or something it's really the decals that are more expensive. For the most part you can just take it off and hammer it out

Pretty cool man. My step-dad used to race sprints in Phoenix and these would also run and down here in the southwest region its getting bigger.
