Default Burning Antifreeze

My car started heating up the other day while i was cruising around and today i looked at it and the antifreeze was super low. But the problem is that it isnt leaking it? It started smelling funny the other4 day too. Im just curious if its burning antifreeze somehow? Anyone have any suggestions?

Blown head gasket could be the problem. Is white smoke coming from the exhaust? I'd get it in before you toast the engine.

It does have a bit of white smoke coming i believe. What do you think caused it? Think it is any of my mods i have listed?

Also check your dipstick for your Engine oil. If the oil looks like a chocolate shake (cloudy) then you definitely have some water and coolant mixed in with your oil.

Also, My Escort leaks anti-freeze, but it's from a hairline fracture in the radiator. I never actually see anti-freeze anywhere on the ground, but after the coolant system gets up to temperature, it hisses out the front of my radiator just a little bit. It's such a fine mist that it doesn't usually leave any residue on the ground, but if you look at it you can see it spraying. I have to put about a quart of Water/Coolant mixture into my resevoir every 2 weeks or so.

My Focus seems to lose a little bit of coolant, but It's only dropped below "low" one time since I got it in may 2000.

Even though you dont see any leaks,it doesn't mean it's not. I had to add coolant almost every week and did not see any leak but I brought it in they replaced my water pump. I haven't added any more coolant since then.

Yeah that is interesting my Focus does seem to lose just a little coolant over time. Maybe from Max to Min in the reservoir every 4-5 months. I always assumed this was a negligible amount (sp?). Is it?

Id rather not say, i feel like a damned idiot. EGR pipe was on the upper radiator hose. Melted through. It was dripping cause it was evaporating off the pipe as it came out. hence the smell.

This just happened to me. Except I guess I found it a lot later, mine leaked lots O coolant. Is this a common problem with many?? Should the hose be replaced under warranty?
