Default Factrory recomended change interval transmission fluid

I have the manual transmission. I can't find in the official scheduled maint. booklet when I am supposed to change the transmission fluid. If I change to Redline (someone recomended D4 ATF) at say 30K miles, what would be the recomended miles to change it again?

Tell You the truth, I have never ever changed manual trans fluid under maintenance. However, I beleive the scheduled interval is approx 60,000 miles or so.

That's what the book tells us to do.

ATF in MTXs isn't uncommon. Many Chrysler FWD trannies are the same way....

Thanks for all of your input. The Redline sounds like a good way to go. I am glad to see Florida and California Focus owners also found the shifting improved even though "when it's cold" means +40 and not -40.

Keep in mind that if you are doing it yourself and I dont see why not being that its so easy, that just draining it and filling it will leave some amount of that snot that came in it. So you should do it twice to insure that you have uncontaminated good stuff of your choice. Or you can go to the dealer and get the tranny flushed which cost mad cash. I put M1 ATF in and cold shifting improved a good amount. Shifting wasnt so loud either. This is just what has worked for me (an experience not a suggestion). Noresull does a great job of linking people up with great information so look forward to him posting a 100% legit response.

I put in Redline Racing MTL and it's smoother than it was.
