Default Question on auto transmission

I want to know if the auto transmission is slipping between the 2nd and 3rd gear when it shift, specially when it is accelerating from around 15mph. Will the check engine light or O/D button comes on when there is a problem of slipping? My transmission seems like slipping, but the service center at the dealership spent over a week on it and they can't find anything is worng with the transmission, worst of all, they can't even find the source of the noise.

A slipping trans will not cause a Check Engine Light to come on. The trans does shift kinda soft on light accelleration and this could feel like a slip.

I had something similar with mine and the dealer reprogrammed the computer as per a service bulletin. He said they do this when a customer has a drivability problem. It now shifts much tighter.

The reason why I asked is because I took my car in 2 weeks ago with this problem, chirping noises from engine when accelerating from 15MPH. Car feels like slip when the chirping noise appear. Service center keep telling me that the transmission has no problem, or the check engine light or O/D button will light up.

I've been noticing a 'chirp' between 1 and 2 under hard acceleration, I REALLY dont think its the tires considering I have an auto, and it sounds like it may be the tranny, sound familiar?

edit: it DEFINATELY feels like a slip when it happens as well, same feeling as a clutch slipping on a manual tranny.
