Default Re: second time around

The CEL on solid means anything from an emissions sensor to any bad sensor, the flashing CEL is a myth.

Get it to a dealer, it sounds like something a little serious.

Default second time around

eh sorry about this. i posted a while ago about my problem but i don't think i explained it as well as i could have, therefore not getting any clear responses.

anyway, my idle is crappy. i'm below 750 most of the time and in more than one occasions my car has stalled. it would have stalled more times but i gave it gas as i noticed the lowering idle. not only is it low but it's also very choppy and rough.

my power flow is also very choppy. when accelerating and then letting off the gas, as the revs decrease, it's very choppy. i both feel it and see it in the tach.

my check engine light has come on but it is in a solid state (and i've heard that when it's a solid light, its just an emissions sensor). my check fuel cap light is on too, even though i close my fuel cap and click more than 3 times every time.

i also hear a rattling noise in my engine bay, bottom end area. what came to my mind was something loose with in the exhaust piping and it's setting off a sensor so my ecu is throwing out codes and therefore creating choppy idle and airflow.

could that be it? [note: i'm not any tech expert so i'm just trying to throw out ideas of what the prob could be]

thanks and any responses would be appreciated. i'll be bringing in my car for a check up this week but i just wanted to see what you guys think before i bring it in. Thanks again.

p.s.- oh only mod is an underdrive pulley. just in case that is significant or anything.

I TOO HAVE SEEN THE MYTHICAL "FLASHING CEL"

it happened as i took my car home from the people who cleaned my cylinder out, the CEL was solid but as i was going down the highway it started flashing steadily.

hm.
