it means Gear 2...incorrect ratio. I dunno what the heck that could mean...its not like the wrong gears could just find their way into the car...which makes me think.... why would Ford even have a DTC for that? thats just a really wierd one.

It means that the PCM is sensing incorrect revs for 2nd gear which may mean slipping friction materials (prolly), or a bad torque convertor (not likely)...

Incorrect revs for 2nd geear relative to all four speeds; in other words, change the tire size with a healthy trans, it won't notice. Go with a big change in tire size and the PCM's revs-per-mile should be reprogrammed only for correct speedo readings.

2001 ZX3. Had jerky engine at ~ 40mph & code 0401. Dealer replaced DPFT - fixed jerkiness but now engine takes 15 seconds to drop to idle (if it gets there at all). Then had code 1506 Dealer replaced IAC. No change but I'm a lot lighter in the wallet. Any ideas?

Two ford dealers have been unable to read my computer. My 2.3 PZEV runs fine, but my check engine light comes on. The local dealer is able to clear the light, but it reappears in a few miles. What could I cause my computer to not be reading at two different dealers? Any help?

These are for all Ford's right not just Focus?

the Dirt Brown Kona in Arizona

All cars in general OBD II brought generic codes to the public... so a Pontiac can have the same failure code as a Ford.

That would be either a tuning issue, a pump issue, or a sensor/wiring issue.

I'd recommend starting a fresh thread, this is informational only.

In your case, I'd examine wiring to/from the O2 sensor to verify it isn't in some way damaged. Once that is verified good, you have to assume that either the sensor is non-functional, or it is actually reading rich due to a tuning or mixture problem elsewhere.

I'd recommend working with somebody experienced to examine the car.

Exclamation Re: ALL DTC for ford

Hi,
I have recently had a P0460 code on my 2002 Focus. I found on the net that could be caused by an aftermarket remote starter .I have a remote starter installed for about 3 years which worked well untill recently when it began to make some problems.Could be that the cause? What else should I check?Otherwise, the car is running well.
Thanks !

Wow this thread is helpful haha, but when I set it up to the computer it came back with PO602 an 605. Any suggestions to fix this? The check engine light was on, but after I took out the performance chip it was off again but I drove probably another 100 miles and its now back on. My car's power seems really low also and kinda stutters or hesitates during high rpm's.

Thx for the help guys

what does pcm mean?
and besides that you guys seem to know your sensors, well i have a problem with my svt. i was driving it normal and out of no where the engine just bogged on me, i figured it was the timing belt, so i get it towed home took off my timing cover and valve cover, and my belt is good no cracks no missing teeth nothing, it skipped timing, how? i dont know. obviously it bent my exhaust valves so i changed them out. ok everything seems good i go ahead and crank it up, and there is some weird knocking noise comming from the engine at idle, ok i give it a lil gas it gets worse and then it fades away. i dont want to drive it with this problem. can someone please help me diagnose this problem, i love my svt and i want to still drive it!!

I found a good website for some other codes not listed. I just got the B1600 and B1602 for the PATS system. Fun stuff! Oh well, here's the link.
