how hard is this to install?? the front end vibration has gotten so bad my hatch-door shakes.. so its spendin the night at a shop so in the morning it will be 1st in line.. but we are both leaning towards that.. i found both mounts for about 75$ at autozones website and the trans mount for 20$... but if i buy the mounts, how hard is it to replace them? info would be greatly appreciated!

not all that hard. it just takes time. you can do them all in probly 2 hours tops. i know the lower mount and the drivers mount is not hard. i dont know about the passenger mount

I replaced the passenger side one in about 30 minutes. It is fairly easy, but make sure you jack the motor up enough. The mount is a tight fit on the studs from the block, and any angle in there lets them bind and it is hard to lift it off. Also, once that mount is free, the springs will expand (due to the lack of engine weight) and the body jumps up a little. Taking a little more engine weight on the jack will eliminate both issues.

So was doing the passenger engine mount change and got everything off but for the life of me couldn't loosen the nut that held the passenger engine mount to the bracket. Seems like the dealer over-torqued it and everything kinda stuck together since I tried and almost ripped the old rubber bushing for the engine mount out ... just wondering if there was a trick? Or I just need to spray it down with some Liquid Wrench or PB Blaster to loosen this up ... I had to put my car back together to get to work this morning and want to make sure I can do this again this weekend. |

when my mechanic replaced mine he said that one of the bolts was so rusted he had to cut it with a torch. this may be the same issue you are dealing with and may be the only resolution.

Yea ... my other option was to buy another engine mount bracket .. but that bracket costs $45 or so ... guess I will have to 'torch' it or just saw-all it off then .. love the east coast salty winters ... haha
