Any advice on removing this (explitive) thing?
I've proken two breaker bars and hit it with an air gun at 150 psi for a good half hour..................nothing!
Thanks folks

turn it counterclockwise.
how much reverse torque does the impact gun have? Get a good stout breaker bar and long piece of pipe and bust it loose! In 4 years of professional use, I've never broken my duralast breaker bar and Ive see the handle flex over 30*! ![]()

Agreed! Is there evidence of rust on the thing? If there is, hit it with some PB blaster and let it sit overnight, that might help it somewhat...

Not sure if it's true for the Focus, but isn't one side right-hand thread and the other left?

They're both normal RHT.
What can happen with a non-SVT Focus nut is the plates can expand and then the threads won't match from one plate to the next... so it grabs the threads of the axle and rips them off. That is one reason I recommend SVT axle nuts instead of standard Focus ones... they are of a single piece construction with a captive washer.

I like SVT nuts. Does that sound wrong?
The captive washer is nice, single-piece construction, no need to worry about the laminated plates separating from one another.

I just took mine off a few hours ago.. hit it once with PB Blaster, let it soak for 5 mins then turned it with a 2 foot breaker bar and a hub nut socket from advance, came off like a charm. (it was non-svt)

My 300 ft-lb electric impact took care of them with gusto. But like said above, try soaking it in PB blaster first. And then try using a breaker bar with a 2-foot cheater bar on it.
