noise from water pump??? - Focaljet

what does the waterpump sound like when its going out? its working but sounds like a bike with a card in the spokes.

def. from pulley side a sounds close to water pump and ac

Im going to check the bolts but this is much louder than before when it had a loose bolt

take the belt off and run it, see if the noise stops. Then grab the water pump pulley and see if there is any slop in the bearing. A mechanics stethascope makes pinpointing the noise easier.

yeah 1 of the bolts was a little loose again so it was slapping back and forth I guess, geez I need to lock tight them !!

The bolts became loose on mine as well on my way home from Carlisle. I likened the sound more like a coffee can rattle, but I can understand the card in bike spoke sound.

yeah i hesitate on the loctite cause it can spin the pully with the belt on even w/o lictit (when tighten or loosen)
