Unhappy my focus keeps overheating! please help

I have a 2002 focus ZX3. It keeps overheating. i went to kragen and bought a new thermostat. Does anyone know how to replace the thermostat? has anyone had the same problem and a leaking problem of one of the hoses?

Welcome mrsketch.

Chances are that you need to replace the thermostat housing at the same time. They are notorious for leaking. (mine is currently, and I'll be replacing it soon)

Are your cooling fans running when the car gets hot? You may have a bad fan resistor.

yes the thermostat housing on mine also leaked. my car was overheating everynow and then, mainly when i was in standstill. had the housing and thermostat replaced at the dealership. woulda done it myself had i had the time. solved my overheating issue.

from the looks though id say it wouldnt be hard.
-have to remove the coolant hose to the housing
-remove the housing
-the you should be able to get to the actual thermostat.
-then reverse your steps when putting back together. also might wanna be sure you properly seal with your gasket and some silicone. (high temp at least)

thats kinda a basic set of instructions....or at least what i would go by lol.
good luck to ya
