Default Advice please

My Mom has an '01 Focus ZTS, and she may have a coolant leak. She is checking to see if it is an obvious leak by checking to see if there is a spot on the driveway. I do not live anywhere near her, so I do not know anything firsthand. If there is no obvious leak, what can I recommend for her to do?
My brother-in-law put some coolant in earlier today; there was no coolant showing at all. She checked it after having driven less than 20 kms, and it was down again.
Mom is 74, and prone to overworrying a problem. If anyone can give some advice to alleviate her fears, it would be most appreciated.

Have her check where the radiator hose meets the block on the driver's side of the motor. The thermostat housing is notorious for leaking. There should be coolant on the bottom of the transaxle too.

There is also a plastic manifold that runs across the top of the radiator, but that tends to coat the underside of the hood with coolant when it is bad.
