um these things happen when you modify cars man. Could be your turbo took it out due to the higher pressures. If you wanted it to be reliable should of kept it stock.

CHeck your connections at your AIT sensor and your MAF sensor. Those are the only sensitive changes you made to your car since the turbo right? I would start there just to be sure

I will check the MAF sensor. I have no idea what AIT sensor is.
PS. I got one code now it is P0106. The other two codes went away. It may be because I didn't clear the codes when I installed the O2 sensor even though the engine light was not on after it's installed.

Randy said the trouble is not the MAF. It is MAP/Speed Density sensor that is in the intake manifold. He said I shouldn't have to take it off to replace the sensor. Any idea where I can find it?

On the FSWerks kit you cut the wires to the stock MAF that controls your AIT and solder them to the Supplied AIT sensor they supply. Even though its still "part" of the MAF it is its own sensor on the FSWerks turbo kit located just before the throttle body and who is to say that it didnt go bad? Its just as sensitive as your MAF im assuming. BTW BoomBoy AIT stands for Air Intake Temperature Sensor

Here is the update:
I replaced both oxygen sensor and MAP sensor and cleared the codes, but they came back on. The problem was not the sensors themselves. It could be wiring or the programming. I don't know. The DTC codes are: P0106 MAP CIR RANGE PERF P0108 MAP CIR HI INPUT PO132 OX S CIR H1 VOLT 1 S1 I took the car to the mechanic... they had no clue.

I decided to reload the tuning program to see if it helped. It did, for a day. Now I just have P0106. I don't think it was a blown fuse. If it was, it would show up immediately, no?
It wouldn't hurt to check, though.

MAF and MAP sensors are separate things.

...and a Duratec car does indeed have a MAP sensor. It is located on the manifold near the throttle body.

When I replaced the MAP sensor, I noticed the sensor had some dirt and grease on it. I don't know if some dirt was supposed to go through the manifold. I replaced it with a brand new MAP and then few days later the check engine lights up. Was it the dirt? Was the manifold somehow cracked?
I noticed a loose bolt near the belt assembly that secures the turbo piping. Some dirt apparently got in the belt assembly. Did the dirt get through all way to manifold? I secured it with a new, longer bolt because the stock one was too short to properly secure the turbo piping. I checked all the turbo pipes and they were secured so I doubt some dirt got passed through to the throttle body. Thoughts?

Hahaha... guess I got a little taste of my own prior medicine. I just sepculated that the new Duratec has an inferred BARO like most other Ford vehicles. Must be something that crossed over from Mazda. Learn something new every day. |
