Default Need some info (Can I drive it?)

02 zts I had axle shaft and wheel bearing replaced few months ago anyway onto the problem. Everytime I turn the wheel either way i hear a loud popping noise from the front passenger side. I climbed under it had a friend turn the wheel a few times while i looked. I dont notice anything odd but i can hear the noise very well. Cant tell where its coming from. anybody have any ideas. and is it safe to drive it until i can get it fixed?

If the 'popping' is constant with speed, ie increases, decreases as you speed up/slow down, then I'd say CV joint has failed.

You say you had axle and bearing replaced. Was it on the passenger side?

does it do it while the car is stopped... just turning the wheel?

if so... strut mount failure...

also... check sway bar end links... very common failure and will cause a clunkish noise as the suspension moves (turning, going over bumps, dips... etc...)

other then that... cv could have failed...
