AC/Heat Blower Motor Not working right

I have a 2001 zx3 My blower motor only works when I turn it on high and when it does turn on its making a real loud noise. What could be the porblem?

Have you taken it out and look at the blower motor resistor and connectors for any damage? I know on gms when the blower motor goes out sometimes its just the resistor. If the resistor, connectors and wires look decent I would test voltage form the connector as you turn the speed knob and see what you get.
