Good Morning Jet,
I am trying to develop a new repair kit for my work. Essentially, the kit will include PCV Elbows and fittings a long with some grommets and vacuum connectors. Nylon Vacuum tubing will be provided along with some miscelaneous clamps. However I think the key to this kit will be identifying a useful tool to find and identify the source of any vacuum leaks. Besides a closed environment with a cigerrette or an open environment and some propane gas... Has anyone come across a useful tool that was not too expensive in your mind to isolate the location of vacuum/emissions leaks? Thanks, Tim

Yep a can of flamible brake clean. Spray it in the suspect area and you should hear the idle change or if its a real small leak you will have to watch for it in the fuel trims with a scanner.

Yea, carb and brake cleaner is another way. Just looking for a more "professional" means to help market a kit. Dont want to create a tech/repair kit by throwing in a can of brake cleaner.

Yea I donno, I and every professional tech always just used brake clean its the quickest to tell and the fastest to grab and when your a tech you dont have time to be waisting time looking for a tool even when your pritty sure whats wrong. But best of luck feal free to hit me up when you get things goin.

i was told i had a vacuum leak on my car and to use brake/carb cleaner to find it...after spraying it all over the engine bay and near the three vacuum hoses on my 2000 SE, I still couldn't find the leak...could there be any other way to check?
