Default 2002 zx3 major bog/studdering/power loss

hey guys new here..

just bought a 02 zx3, had the car for a few days and this morning i started it and when i went to drive to work it was really losing power through the gears. like a previous post i read, up until 4 thousand rpm. the car has an exhaust and as its studering and lagging i can really hear it through the pipes. anyone had this before? im not firmiliar with the focus yet as i just got it and drove a neon before. ANY HELP would be great!!!

Welcome to FocalJet.

It can be one or several things. Since you just got the car, can't you take it back to wherever you bought it to see if they can fix it? Did the car do this when you test drove it before buying it?

Is the check engine light coming on?

Well i bought the car as is because the dealer wanted way to much to cert. so me and my buddy practically did a safty right there in the dealer lot haha. shouldnt need anything. i did some reading up and decided to get under and in the engine as i have yet to play around yet. turns out i didnt even know i had a screamin demon ignition coil on it. and i guess while driving the **** outta her yesterday, being a moded and new car to me i ended up poping a ignition wire right outta the coil. hahaha explains why it sounded like gun shots as i tried to pull away!!! anyways all is good now, but im def going to replace the wires cuz they are a little worn... and what a great car too compaired to my 2000 automatic neon. being standard with mods this car has guts!!!! thanks for the input guys, much appreciated.
