Default Tire Pressure

Does anyone know what the recommended tire pressure would be for 215/40/17 on a 7x17 rim? Mine look like they need some air but not sure what to fill them to. The car is normally unladen with only the driver.

US pressure:

15" 32psi
16" 34psi

I would try 35psi for the 17". If the RS has 17" stock then find a dealer that sells them and look at the factory sticker with the proper inflation settings.

Hope this helps.

38-40 psi no less u will run thee risk of bending a wheel also blowing the sidewall out of the tire.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">so is this what people with 215/40/17 tires are running with?

also... what should the pressure be with the rim OFF of the car, so that when the rim is put on the car, it'll be all set and driveable?

um. door sticker on my FSVT says 32 psi front

this is also dependent on the tire. go with the manufacturer's specs, they've burst and pinch-flatted enough of them to know
