Subject says it all. I don't see a lot of discussion on these. Why????????? I know they are light and expensive but are they any more than the OZ superleggeras.

Makin industries is the US distributor for RAYS wheels (Volk is Rays top of the line wheels). Any shop in the US gets them from Makin. They also distribute Tanabe exhaust, Koito and alot of other cool stuff.
Just for your info, I dont belive they make the TE-37 in the 4x108/4x4.25 which is the Focus pattern...I had a very early pair of the TE-37s on a 92 Civic. These wheels are not cheap...17" would run you around 4-500 a piece. Makin 9921 Jordan Circle P.O. To the best of my knowledge they don't make them for the Foci...and that's coming from one of their reps cause I emailed them about it. Plus they are WAAAYY to expensive. If you're lookin for lightweight wheels then I know that Rota makes nice lightweight wheels but I don't think they make them for Foci either unless there is enough interest generated. They weigh in at about 15lbs. Plus you can get them for about 400bucks for a complete set. In fact the Rota Slipstreams are SPOON replica's.

To my knowlege Rays has not tooled up for the 4x108 pattern. I dont think they will anytime soon either. |

Actually Rota will make them for the Focus if their is enough interest generated. I think the last time I talked to them they said they needed like 10 people or something. It's been about 6 months ago so it might have changed.
Here's the website: www.rotawheels.com |

If they utilize some of the existing holes and plug, it not only weakens the wheel but looks like total hell. 99% of the time people get wheels drilled they have a cap over the lugs, so it doesnt expose the redrill. Buy a good set of wheels that fit your car. There are plenty of companies that will build you a custom fitment that is forged.. it will cost, but you will have a nice set of custom, light, strong wheels. HRE and Kinesis are 2 companies I can think of that build super light, super sweet wheels to any bolt pattern.. |

If it makes the wheels weaker, How is 1320 Rally car using re-drilled enkei rally wheels? With no cover over the lugs. I'm pretty sure the car gets a far worse beating than anything out in the street. And from the pictures you can't even tell there re-drilled. If I can get the TE37 re-drilled without affecting the strength of the wheel I will start looking for some. I can just imagine Bronze TE37 on a black ZX3,DAMN [ 12-07-2001: Message edited by: RUDE-E ]
|

I guess Jon says they are avail. Thats awesome. They are great wheels. My list for the TE-37 does not list them. Good news. |

I remember reading the SCC magazine which said they had re-drilled them. I'm at work; when I get home I'll check on that article.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!
I have four sitting in my closet, and yes they make wheels to fit our car(or they do Now,hehehe). Anyway, I can't tell you what I got them for, but they are 17" Volk TE37's. Call or email them they should make the TE37's in 17' now, since they made me some. |

Thats my mistake then. I talked to Makin in the past when I had my SVT contour, because I wanted them, actually in 18"s so maybe thats why they didnt have em. There size listing doesnt show them either. Thats sweet you got a set. |

I would guess if you can find them in the Foci pattern, which I think is going to be tough, you will pay about 495. a wheel. Thats a lot of dough.. |

They are pricey but one of the lightest forged wheels for the price and I really like the look. Options is selling them for $499. Now I just need to decide on tires. I am pretty set on the 215/45/17 Kuhmo's. Anyone else know of anyone who carry's the Volk's for the focus cheaper?
