Gunmetal on infrared focus
I am debating over white or gun metal rims for my infra red zx3. It is a dark red so i personally think the gun metal will look better. I just ordered eibach sportlines (2" drop) and wondered if 16" would look good. I don't want to give up power for 17's. Please comment. You can be honest cause it's my hard earned cash.

i've seen a few infra red's with white wheels and the red & white really compliment each other well. i'd go with that.

I love anthracite wheels, but not on a red car. I would go with the white. Bronze looks ok on red...

Gunmetal rims go well with all the grayish black trim on the Focus. White rims are so five minutes ago imho, unless you have a white car.
Also, brake dust is a closer color match to gunmetal, so they don't look as dirty as white wheels can. 16's are good. Tirerack.com has a thingy where you can view wheels on your car- It's enough to give you the idea. [ 12-06-2001: Message edited by: J. Chin ]</p> |

You're right J. Chin. White is five years ago. I do think the infra red looks good with white compared to fire engine red or so. Makinnen's Mitsu looks good with white but i would need white decals, which i am not a fan of. We strapped gun metal Motegi's on the focus and it looked great. Especially with the black trim. It makes the trim look good. A real head turner cause everyone has silver, white, and chrome. I'll post a pick later on. I hope you'll enjoy.

I think white rims on a red car looks like crap, IMHO, so I would go with the gunmetal.

I have also been trying to figure this one out as I have an Infra-Red sedan. It's a Street Edition so it has the black trim and I'm going for a Red/Black theme (tinted windows, won't be painting my Hellas when I get them) so I'm thinking gunmetal would look sweet on it, but I dunno. Tough decisions!

I would go with the gunmetal. IMO the only color white rims look right on is white. That is not knocking anyones personal choices. I just don't care for it.

yea.. white rims can only be on white only.. anything else (like red).. gunmetal, anthracite, bronze, etc. is best.
