Ok I found 2 more rims, one that is 17 x 8 that has a back spacing of 12mm and...
another 17 x 9 BUT with 26mm backspacing.... Would it be possible to get either of these to fit? It is just that I'm looking to put the maximum contact patch to the ground that is SANELY possible.

The correct overall diameter of wheel/tire combination is calculated as follows: e.g. 205/50-16 is 205 mm. tire width with an aspect ratio of 50% of the tire width or 102.5 mm. multiplied by 2, thus resulting in 205 mm. and then added to the 16" diameter in mm. which is 406.4, giving you a total overall diameter of of 611.4 mm. or 24.07" [[185*65%]*2] + [14*25.4] >> [120.25*2] + 355.6 >> 240.5 + 355.6 = 596.1 mm. -or- 23.468 in. [[195*60%]*2] + [15*25.4] >> [117.0*2] + 381.0 >> 234 + 381 = 615.0 mm. -or- 24.212 in. [[205*50%]*2] + [16*25.4] >> [102.5*2] + 406.4 >> 205 + 406.4 = 611.4 mm. -or- 24.071 in. [[215*45%]*2] + [17*25.4] >> [96.75*2] + 431.8 >> 193.5 + 431.8 = 625.3 mm. -or- 24.618 in. |

I have the same question...
The only thing I have to add is; ...w/ a 45mm offset wheels?Has anyone used a 225-40-18 on their Focus? The basic specs seem like they would fit well but I want to be sure first before ordering. Thanks. |

I know it is probably a competitor site but www.7thgencivic.com has a really good tire calculator on their site. (My dad has a 2002 Si) You give the original size and then the size you want to buy... and it will compare diameter, revs per mile, Circumference, radius, and sidewall height, and what % your Speedo is too slow or fast. It also has a visual to give you somewhat of idea how wider or taller.... very helpful

i imagine that 215/45-16...23.7" means: that tire will fit into my wheel well, i was wondering. how do i know if that 215 45 will fit my 16" stock rim? my rear end slides out a lot and needed to replace the front tires so i was going to move my pirellis in the back up front and put the 215's on in the back. thanks for your help!
edit: im running the 205's as we speak. i think 50 series maybe 45 not sure. |

And with the introduction of the new mini, we can now find tires in 175/65R15...24". TireRack offers two snows in this size, which is probably the main interest for a tire this size. Yokohama also lists a snow as well, but not at TireRack (currently).

215 (mm; section width) / 45 (percentage of section width in sidewall height) - 17 (inches; wheel diameter
After that, it's load rating and speed rating... OE stands for Original Equipment. |
