Default Raybestos?

I've used some of their higher-performance Street pads years back on a 200SX, and I liked them at the time, but I wonder if they make anything for the Focus.
I LOVE my Hawk HP+, but there's the $$$. (Cash is TIGHT these days).
The Mintex A/F are Good for Auto-X/Street, but Definitely Not for Open Track or Heavy "Dragon Runs".
I KNOW that Raybestos makes SERIOUS "Race Pads".
They've sponsored various Races and Race Vehicles, and I know that they used to mention the rigors of NASCAR braking at Martinsville as one of their "Testing Grounds" for product development.
Does anyone know about Focus applications or if Custom pads are available like Carbotech used to do when they were first starting to supply the Focus market?
I don't even know which retailers carry Raybestos these days.
Anyone with any ideas?

Carbotech will put any compound they make on any plate you send them.
Done in house. Not cheap, though.
You KNOW speed limit on the Dragon is 30 mph, right?

Right!
Now then...
I KNEW that about Carbotech...
What about Raybestos?
Does anyone USE their Race Compounds?
Do they MAKE a Focus Application (At ANY Level)?
Who Carries them?
And Lastly, do THEY do like Carbotech (Build to suit), Assuming they have a good compound, but no Focus application yet?

30mph in REVERSE! Mike you have to try auto-x in reverse. My Brembo Max and Feroda DS2500 have been through 3 seasons now and still doing good.

I had some Raybestos PG Plus pads at one point... they were good for about 3/4 of a freeway panic stop before they'd fade.

The other compounds might be fine, but those were some of the least sporty pads I've ever had on my car.

All I know is this--- do not use the "Quiet-Stop" ceramics. EVER!!!

Growing up, I was always told that Raybestos was the good stuff.

Bought Raybestos rotors to go with the aforementioned pads for the last FoFo I owned. First twisty highway I was on, got nothing but shakety shake shake. WTF! Turned out that those pads leave VERY uneven deposits on the rotors.

About the same time, I did the brakes on my sister's 02 Caravan. Same pad line. 3000 miles later, the riveted shims came off, causing a severe issue with uneven wear+ noise.

I will never buy this brand again.

Hawk FTW!!

I'd suspect that, like tire brands, they have their Hits and Misses.
If they CAN build brake pads for Martinsville, I know that they Know How to make a KILLER brake pad, and I never had problems with the street pads I had on that old Datsun.
I hate playing games with, "Which ones are the Good ones?".
I was just hoping that maybe they had something in line with the Hawk HPS at a lower price point.

Quietstop is a fine pad for the right application. However when pushed it tends to break down and leave material on the rotor. They are also know as Q compound on Wilwood kits. I know, I had the same issue with customers.

Other pads such as Wilwood A, B, D and others from Raybestos are superior product. Again in the right application. It's less about who makes it and more about matching the compound to the intended use.

Matching the compound's heat range to the intended use.

(Forgive me for adding words to the quoted portion of your post, sir. Consider it merely an edit of sorts...)
