Is there room to add 2in to the inside in the front? I would love to see those rikens at 9 all the way around with the 205/40's. 205/40 + 9's =

I've often thought about that. Would be really cool. Someone needs to get lucky at a junkyard/dealer for a side by side part comparison, or we need some CAD drawings/assemblies to look at.

Somone with a zx3 [for 100% sure brake fitment] needs to jump on these, 195/50/15 or 205/50/15, and put the frame rails on the ground with some coils....

Damnit man.....sssshhhhh! You can see my reply in that thread I would be ALLLLL over them if they were 17s and maybe even 16s. I LOVE the Type A's. 15s on a focus is getting a little small for my taste though.

^ haha my bad. I didn't even see your post there. I agree with you on the sizing for the most part.

The more I look at that picture, the more curious I get. Can anyone read German? His profile says "Umbau auf 5x114" EDIT: google says that roughly translates to "conversion to 5x114, so not terribly helpful.

I think those Barracuda's in 5x114 are 18x8 et 45. So, he can't be running adapters. Maybe he just re-drilled the hubs, but 5x114 is pretty big, would that even fit on our stock hubs?

I agree, 15's with stretch is too small for a Focus...somedays I think my 16's are too small...

You don't always HAVE to stretch....
To fit your 16s you do, but your sidewall isn't at a crazy angle. It's a mild stretch but looks good nonetheless.

I have done 5x100, and 4x114.3 I can do 5x114.3 as well using the same method. I was actually going to fit some 5x120 17x7.5 et42 fronts and 17x9 et8 rears with some custom front and rear hubs, but I found a way nicer set of wheels in 4x114.3 Here is a pic of the 4x114.3 i just did. Pics of the wheels on the car will be up next week.

That looks scary. Not too much material on the outside edge of those stud holes.

And the edge of the stock press fit stud hole which is only .200 from the od of the hub is much better?? Considering on how the studs are loaded, it is more than adequate. Aluminum wheel adapters scare me way more than properly redrilled hubs.

I don't know the owner (he's german, but i can mail him)
I think he use spacer/adapter: it's the cheaper way to mount wheels with different hub

Just sucks cause adapters are usually nearly an inch thick which messes up the offsets. I like a little poke, but not TONS.

Well, I would never run an adapter. I'm just saying it looks scary, not saying you did a bad job or that it wont work fine. Just IMO looks scary. Honestly I'd love a 5x114 conversion if possible ....

5x114.3 can definetly be done. It would be just like the pics I posted, but 5 studs. The rear hubs actually have a larger od and have more material around the holes.

No holes overlapping on a 5 bolt conversion? I know HTP does 4x100 conversions, if someone offered a 5x100 or 114 service that would open up a whole new world of nice wheels for us.

I believe HTP offers 5x100 as well, check their website. If they don't currently have one, they can do one. It'd just take a little time.
