Default offset HELP!?

I'm looking for rota wheels (most likely rb's) and certain websites have great prices but do not have 42 mm offset.(but it is listed in rotas wheel catalog) Does the offset have to be 42mm or is there like a range of offsets that fit the focus no problem?

If anyone knows where rota rb's/slips/or subzeros can be found for decent pricing for a focus please let me know!!! I only find $500+ a set

http://www.machiii.net/wheels/RB.html

They've got the RB in 16x7 et30 and et40 in 4x108.

Lower offsets can work depending on how low you are and what tire size you run.

Here's some 16s for $470...

And 15s for $400...

Exactly.

My current wheels are 7.5" wide and 42 offset and they fit just fine. I have my coilovers adjusted pretty low and have yet to rub at all with the stock sized 205/50/16 tires.

So for clarification you're running 205s on a 7.5 wheel? Or you have those wheels AND you also have stock wheels with 205/50s?

And for Tron, the offset you can run will depend on how wide of a wheel you are looking at too. If a 16x7 will work for you than you will be able to run a larger range of offsets than will a 7.5 in wide wheel. Also, the suspension you use will definitely determine which offset to get because of two reasons, how low it is and how stiff it is. The height of the suspension is the most important aspect but if you have something low and fairly soft (like an H&R cup kit) you may have issues with anything other than a very mild offset.

For good rota pricing check out 18racing.com btw

Thank you Nick, I will prob keep it stock, or svt springs, i just want to lose some of the wheel gap so i dont have a 4x4...I dont want to replace struts and shocks, unless i get a deal from a local guy w eibachs if he includes dampers.

As for the wheel I will most likely get a 16x7 or 17x7 Either svt or svt euro, or a equal size rota

does anyone know if HB (hole bore?) 67.1 with a 40mm offset on stock suspenion with most likely a 205/??/15 would be alright? I still want a low profile look but somewhat beefier, so 50/55/60?.... Id like to look into seeing if rota torques are available in a 4x108 bolt pattern 15x6.5 on a stock suspension with a beefier tire wouldn't look to 4x4 ish, i have a 15in steel wheel on a 195mm?(not 100% sure of tirevsize) bf goodrich traction t/a

Well, if you're going to put the SVT springs I really suggest just replacing the stuts too. In the front you're going to have to remove the spring from the strut anyways and while it's all apart I'd say it's worth it just to replace the whole thing, especially because you can get an entire SVT suspension kit for ~$300 and I believe that includes the 21mm rear bar, which is a nice addition as well.

If you decide to go that route, you can run an array of offsets. The SVT wheels (EAP or otherwise) all have a 49 mm offset which will obviously work great. Those came with 215/45/17 tires from the factory so with that combo you shouldn't rub... even if you tried. I'd say to be safe anything between that 49 - 40 offset should work without issue. Anyone else step in if you think otherwise but that would be my unprofessional .$02.

Hope that helps.

I would say roughly the same. The SVT suspension isn't dropping your car enough to make much of a difference. What are you looking to do with your wheels, auto-x, show, daily driver?

With a lower number offset you will have more 'dish' which some like and some don't. Mr. Blue's car has what I believe are 15x7 in 30mm offset

http://www.omnilith.net/rob/web/photos/

But he has coilover suspension so there's a little more adjustability with how they fit on the inside. Fit was also aided by lightly rolled fenders and a shorter tire I my memory serves me correctly.

On the other side of the wheel spectrum you can find an EAP wheel where there is basically no 'dish'

http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/c...ay40/wheel.jpg

One wouldn't really be considered better than another, it's basically preference and how hard you are going to be pushing your car. If you're wanting to put it under a lot of load with fast cornering and whatnot with a soft suspension then I'd suggest something with a little bit higher offset number (hence the 40-49 range above). The lower the offset number the farther out the edge of the wheel will be.

I'm just looking for daily driving in spring and summer, when the salt and snow is gone. perhaps an autox or two. not often, and just to look good. I really like the torque, if i can find a rota torque set in 15x6.5 with 40mm offset and 67.1 bore would that be legit on stock suspension, i would end up getting a beefier tire i think

Might I suggest the 16x7 grid 40 mm offset with 205/50/16 tires as modeled here by our very own FJ Distinguished Advisor - Z63R:

http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d1...Brakes008a.jpg

I think these wheels/offset give the best of both sides of the equation plus they're not too pricey. He's even got the SVT suspension to boot. Copy anything on this car and you'll be golden.

^ Thank you, my good man; you do indeed have the tire & wheel specs correct, but the car's been sitting on H&R Sports and KYB AGXs for over two years now.

Sits a little higher in the back due to the 58 pounds of rear seats, seatbelts, anchors, hardware and rear wiper motor deletion. Sits a tad higher in the front due to the all-alloy Duratec engine.

A full-interior Zetec-engined ZX3 would sit a bit lower all around on those H&R Sports.

Here's the car going down the road after the rear seat delete, with some junk in the trunk; about 60 lbs to be exact...

Here's my old car on a 2-inch drop sitting on 16x7 et40 RBs:

I would suggest nothing more than a 1.5" drop with this setup unless you want roll your fenders. With a fender roll, I would have been completely rub-free (but alas, the car was totaled during the winter before I had a chance to use my newly acquired fender roller). As the car sat in these pictures, I'd get light fender "kisses" at when I'd hit bumps at/near full compression.
