Mike, you and Jeff are saying the same thing.

And I'm gonna come in and confuse some more. I do not believe the rear end toes in under compression. At stock height, the front most control arm, referred to as the toe link, is angled down towards the outside of the car. Under compression, this will swing the toe link outwards bending the control blade and forcing toe out. When I had my H&R race springs, this toe link was nearly level, so very little toe change occurred. I believed the 'passive rear steer-toe in under compression' stuff because that is what I read here. Once I looked myself, that is not the geometry I see. If somebody has a good reason to feel I am incorrect, PLEASE PM me and describe to me what is going on.

As I read it, you're saying two opposite things.
What am I missing?

I thought you were speaking of when the rear end is squashed down, I was talking about when it is lifted up.
I am merely going off what I had read here or more accurately probably what I thought I read in regards to what the wheels do.

Interesting.

If I recall correctly, the original notion cam from a Ford engineer back when they were allowed to post on the board, but it was in no way an "official" post.

From what I remember, we all thought the car had toe-out under compression and somebody came in to tell us differently. Since then it has been accepted as gospel.

Curiously, I have a pending "upgrade" to swap my rear control arms. I could potentially plot the toe and camber curves at the same time.

^let us know how that goes if you end up doing that

in regards to the toe link in the rear end, after i was told about the effects of it by the guys at HTP, brad and i discussed it and are under the same impression that at closer to stock ride heights, when the toe link is angle downward, the rear toe's out under load. but with lower static ride heights, which would place the toe link level, like on my application, toe change should be minimal
