Well in a few weeks here the winter rims and blizzaks are going on. I will be needing some new summer tires for this next spring. I am currently running 225/50/16 Fuzion ZRi's and would consider 225/45/16 to get closer to the stock size. Main priority is I'm getting the best bang for the buck. I was pleased with the Fuzions, not with their tire life but with their exceptional wet and acceptable dry performance.
What I'm looking for: 1. Prefer they be directional love the V look and wet performance. 2. Preferably keeping the treadwear at or near 300. 3. Has to be a Z rated tire, and the stiffer the sidewall the better. 4. Value 5. Real world reviews from fellow Focus owners. So let me know your recommendation, and why.

1) very V 2) i dont know 3) i think it is but it hardly matters because your focus wont get anywhere near the z speed rating anyway. 4) costs more than the average tyre but considering how long tyres last its not a huge increase in expense. and definately much better than average tyres. 5) street use- excellent. very grippy dry or wet. not uncomfortable or noisy. track use - does not need warm up lap to start gripping. but not as grippy as some other options. dont handle heat/stress of track work well. tread gets worn very quickly on the track and overheat after only a few laps. |

The Pirelli P Zero Nero M&S fits all of your requirements except the V tread.
The "M&S" part is basically thicker tread than a standard P Zero Nero - thus a nice long wear life (treadwear rating of 300). They're just as useless in snow as standard P Zero Neros. ;-) It's Z rated. $107/tire at the Tire Rack isn't exactly cheap, but very reasonable. Grip is excellent - on par with anything short of autocross rubber. Once I stumbled upon them, they were the only tires I ran on my ZX5.

Just wondering, why do you specifically request a Z rated tire? That means the tire is capable of 149 mph. V is also 149 mph. W is 168 mph. Y is 186 mph.
I don't know if you plan on taking the tire to 149 mph, and maybe it's not my business, but these other speed ratings may open up your choices a bit.
