Hey,
I want to swap over to the advance trac rear disc brake system. My spare wheels and drag wheels are 15" so I have no desire to use the SVT system or any other sort of big brake system. In the front I already have EBC slotted and grooved rotors and GreenStuff pads and I would like to go with an Advance-Trac rear setup along with stainless lines all around...Without going SVT or big brake this is the best system I can think of. If anyone could point me in the direction of a complete list of stuff I would have to source and swap out to make this conversion complete (including E-brake, etc.) I'd be greatly appreciated. Thank you! --Matt--

Your best bet is going to be finding a wrecked car to get the parts from, an Advancetrac car or ST would probably be best although I think you can fit 15's over SVT rears as well.
If you wanted SVT rears I can sell you the complete kit for $429.00 plus shipping. You can download the brake swap instruction packet right from FRPP, http://www.fordracingparts.com/downl...tionsheets.asp

On a side note, 15" wheels fit over SVT rears just dandy.
...though 10.2" front discs and 11" rear non-vented would look a little goofy.

Yeah, I was planning on getting some drilled and slotted rears if that's an option...Not sure. Thanks for the heads up because I may just go with those anyway...I want to make sure the rear brakes won't be too overpowering though lol. This car will be tracked occasionally and I've got 350+whp on tap so I'd like something somewhat performance-oriented.

Open track or drag?
If you're going to do open track with 350whp, you need a lot more brake at the front end. An aggressive driver with the best 10.2" hardware is only good to about 140-150whp on most tracks, and even that is a bit sketchy. I tried one event with my 10.2" hardware and my PWSC and found that I had to slow down about 300 feet earlier than I could with real brakes. It was downright scary. I could do about 1 1/2 laps at full speed before melt down.

Most of the stuff that I do is drag and I rarely (haven't yet but may at some point) do any open track events. I do some aggressive driving on back roads like most of us, just want a little more brake then I already have. Thank you VERY much for your $.02. Keep the info coming!

As a matter of fact. I just found out, on Christmas Eve, that my original donut in my zx3 fits over the rear SVT brakes I put on this past Summer.

Sweet deal. Definitely good to know. Brakes are next on my list along with the steering wheel-mounted boost button, but I don't know when I'll have a spare $600 to make that happen.
