While this thread came up..i have a question. My cat backet is also destroyed. I have noticed that my o2 sensors wont fit right and rub cause the cat seems to be outa place. did anyone else encounter this problem with a broken or no cat bracket? Its on a SVT...im just trying to rule out a bent header with cheaper stuff.

You're all going to have to be more specific. Do you want the half bolted to the engine of the half bolted to the cat?

The broken brackets on the SVT are fairly common but having the cat in the wrong place kind of points to a bent header.

Look at the bottom of the header and see if it's got a big dent in it.

Hi Steve,

Both halves ... Mine broke off after I yanked on it a little. On another note, the little 'washers' that hold the heat shield for the gas tank up, are they available at any auto part place or is it a Ford item only? Seems the goofs at the dealer that did the fuel pump recall on my car didn't install them correctly last year.

Was that project to make a custom bracket for the catalytic converter still going or that has been cancelled. I know you were thinking of doing something like that.

Please also price me a new fuel tank heat shield.

I just remembered .. it was the rear swaybar brackets for cars that didn't come with them stock from Ford.

Anyhow ... how many of those heat shield clips do I need? Also, how much is the whole heat shield in case I can't reuse it.

Zetec - Manual ... doubt this matters

Can I order them through the online system or do I have to call it in? Let me know. I'm on the East Coast so I probably need to call you in the next hour or so ...

The heat shield itself is $45.00.

Calling in the order would be best.

Is this shield necessary? I had two bolts that were rusted and broke the square nut that was welded on the mount for the top of the heat shield .... Just wondering since I'm torn now between putting more money into my car or just getting a newer Focus. ...

I'm going to try to call again after work today.

If you need the part in your picture then we're fine, is that not it?

If you want to take pics of what you need that's fine.
