How-to: Adding colored text to your post or signature... - Focaljet

For anyone who is interested in adding some color to their posts or to their signature, I found a listing of custom color codes and I figured I would post them, along with an example of some text in each color. Obviously some of the brighter colors, and the whites, would not be good to use, but I figured I would include them to keep the list more complete.

To use any these colors, simply copy the associated code using "Ctrl+C" on your keyboard. Then in the "Font Color" box below the posting window, click on the "?" in the lower right corner. A small window should pop-up prompting you for the color code, and you simply paste it into that box.

When you click "Ok" on that box, a section of UBB Code controlling text color will automagically appear in the posting window. Simply type whatever text you want to show up in that color into the empty space between the two code boxes and you're done. You might want to Preview your post prior to hitting 'Submit' until you get the hang of it.

A lot of people probably already know how the UBB Code works, but finding these custom color codes is not so easy. Hopefully this will prove useful to some of you.

Well I kind of cheated when I did that - its not as difficult as it seems. But yes, you would need the color code for each letter. It looks better when you do it with a longer string of text, like this.

You should also be able to use the color name in place of the code too. So, if you find it easier to remember crimson than it is to remember "dc143c" - both should give you the exact same result when typed into that pop-up window.

I haven't tried each one though by name though, so if you run into problems, just stick with the code.

I'll invent my own:
COLOR!

I'll call it... Uh... 35% red, 88% green, and 60% blue.

Of course, we've got 16,777,216 colors to choose from, so I guess we can go wild.

I refuse to use a set of defined colors... I'll invent my own: COLOR! I'll call it... Uh... 35% red, 88% green, and 60% blue. Of course, we've got 16,777,216 colors to choose from, so I guess we can go wild.
