Default Friendly focus drivers?

For some reason i find that focus drivers in the jersey area are not friendly at all, i think they hate on each other, when ever i see another focus, usualy with a younger driver ill just give a nod, just some kind of whats up. its funny ,my friend with a stock VW golf can drive down the road and give a nod to every other VW driver and they will respond. jersey focus drivers stop hateing on each other

wow. Focus drivers here in Wisconsin are VERY friendly. When I was on a road trip to Iowa, I got lost and pulled over to the side of the road to look at a map. Another woman in a Focus pulled over to see if she could help me!

Nells, maybe she wanted your number...

I wave at other SVT's, even had a run with a Cobra in town, but nobody really does anything.

Now if I were to wave at EVERY Focus around town I'd need a third hand.

I wave to other foci drivers here in indy all the time. Usually just get strange looks or if it's a girl driving they speed away as fast as they can. If it's a yellow focus I usually flash my lights or give my "F" gang sign out the window.

Around here there's so many seniors driving Foci that it just confuses them when I wave.

Most around here are not very friendly. Several modded ones running around, but everytime i give the fj pimp or wave. I get a go to hell look back, so i dont even bother anymore. The people that ive met off various focus boards are pretty cool however.

I've been looking for other Focaljet members whenever I see a focus but I haven't seen any. I have the plate surrounds from the jet on the front and the back to let people know I'm a member. You see my silver wagon in IL, flash the lights or wave and I'll wave back.

Where exactly are you in the NJ area?

I'm up in Bloomfield.

I wave to lots of Focus drivers and honk and what not.

Just the other day, a older gent, in a white zx3 behind me, pulled up real close, and wrote down the "www.newedgeperformance.com" window banner i have laid across my rear window.

I even waited @ the light while he finished copying it down and then waved and gave a double honk.

he waved back. and that was it, we drove off and now hopefully he'll buy something from Tony!

But yeah, shoot me a pm, and i'll let ya in on some NJ info.

You don't drive a '05 do you? We '00-'04 Focus owners hate those '05 owners!

Not so much on the road, there are too many, but if you happen to be next to someone else with a focus in a parking lot usually someone says something to the other person.

I also find the Foci seem to come in packs in parking lots. All the foci seem to try and park next to another focus. I guess the thinking is If the other people have the same car, they are more likely to respect yours.

I Always find it funny how by random a local parking lot can wind up looking like a FJ meet. And noone has ever met!

Anyone that seams to be into “tuning” the focus or who has a “special edition” focus on the road tends to give a nod to someone else on the road with a moded or special edition focus though.

Now I had someone in a Red SVTF pull up next to me honk and wave today. That would be the first time I've had that happen.

So I guess my quick Uturn and accelerate away got his attention, the yellow paint might have got his attention too.

are you sure he wasn't honking at you because you got in his way doing your "quick U-turn"?

A couple of years ago, I came out of work late one night to a Contour with a dead battery. The only one of my coworkers who even offered to help was a lady with a dark green Focus.

there are quite a few nice and cool foci drivers around here. the difference is the ones who drive the focus becuase it's cheap and gas mileage is better, far out number the ones who are total enthusiasts. I try to plug [Fj] as much as I can to most foci drivers i meet. they seem to respond well and surprised that there are focus enthusiusts around the world. You never know, I may have changed someone's life just by doing that.
