HI all, I am new here and would like to ask. What is the proper clutch pedal hieght in a 2003 Focus ZX3 Zetec 5 spd? Mine is near the top and I feel its near the end for the clutch, is this true? I would also like to ask How to adjust these? Thanks Dave.

I'm not quite sure what you are asking? Are you asking where the 100% clutch engadgement point is? If so, yeah, its a very long throw clutch, so you need to push it in about 95% to get full engagement.

As the clutch disc wears it will increase your free play not decrease it. Our clutch pedal doesn't have any free play adjustment built in and is preset by the slave cyl / throwout bearing assembly. Generally speaking you should have about 1" of free play travel before your pressure plate begins it's disengagement. |

Hi My pedal engages at the very top when leting it out. I am used to the clutch being engaged half way down, but when I push the clutch in or down the travel is not very far down before it will release. Is it okay to say that the Focus is like this. I would like to know how do you know if the clutch is on its way out? Thanks Dave

Hi My clutch pedal when at top, not even 1-2 inches, when I push down will release the clutch. When I go to engage, it goes all the way up just until almost the full way with the foot off position. Is this normal? Its a weired clutch. Thanks for all the replies. Dave.

Sounds like your clutch, while at the edge of the proper settings, it working properly.
All clutches are different, and it sounds like you may have gotten an edge case. |
